2D panel or only 3D panel

However, to have 2d panels can be very nice if you have a multi-monitor setup...

You haven't said what your real world experience is.

Therefore I never gave you a reason to make comments like...

I take it you haven't actually sat in a 737 flightdeck seat then?

...since you don't seem to have the practical experience to know what real should look...

Given that I have suggested simple real world tests that will let you observe and understand exactly what it is you are seeing, and which confirm that the way FSX does it is the same way it happens in real life, it sounds like of the two of us, I am the only one that actually looked at an IRS panel from the pilots seat of a 737.

Paul Smith.

I think everyone has made their point and just deal with the fact it'll most likely just have pop up 2-D Panels. Not sure what's the point arguing and debating if they're not going to change for a few people unfortunately.

Forums are the places where people share their opinions, arguing, debating, and this is interesting topic, so why we should not talk about 2d panels? And if you do not see, its more than "a few people". No matter if they make 2d panels or not, we are showing them there is high demand for that panels.

And that was my opinion ^_^

Yes it was/is, I respect that but I disagree

Well this is an interesting topic. I am a bit half/half on this one. I personally do not use the 2D panel. I never have and most likely never will. BUT, the VC is not perfect by any means. There are things that I do not like about it, but you learn to live with them. It very much comes down to personal tastes. PMDG will never be able to satisfy everyone's desires. They have their reasons as to why they are doing this. If they lose revenue because of it, well that is something they will need to deal with and accept. Arguing about what is better then the other is pretty pointless. All the little children need to grow up and recognize we are all different. :) Rant Over.

"I take it you haven't actually sat in a 737 flightdeck seat then?" sounds like he was asking if you had or hadn't. You never answered.

"...since you don't seem to have the practical experience to know what real should look..." Key word is bolded. He never said you hadn't but because you refuse to state whether you've actually ever been on the flightdeck of an airplane leads most to believe that you're just arguing for arguments sake.

He wasn't being rude in any way, you however... Well, we're used to that.

Ok, I have spent a fair bit of time left seat and right on the 744F, A320,A330,A340,767 (LVL-D sims) real A330 & 767 (pre 911) and still access a A320 sim (for work)

Never have I sat in front of a 2D panel in Fs9 and FSX and thought this looks/feels like what I have seen before, on the other hand with TrackIR setup correctly in the VC. a fast rig and a (Very Large) LCD screen, the immersion is far closer to what I have felt when sitting on the flightdeck and moving around. I will leave you guy's to carry on arguing but there really is no comparison.

I probably wouldn't touch FS if my TrackIR broke.

You counted some conditions you need in order to make that immersion, so VC only is not enough?

We can talk about 2d panels in same way: 2d panels with 3-6 LCD, and/or 3 projectors screens looks very close to RL.

At this point why can't we just say "to each their own" and happily fly our own preferred setups?

A.J., that is probably the best thing I've read in this thread. Just grab a beer (or a soda if you're like me) and go fly. How hard is that?

I'm gonna shut this one down. We've already stated our position on this and we are not inclined to change it. If that changes we'll let you know.
