You know why it's so annoying? Because you all seem really, really ungrateful! So so so many people will die today, so many people will argue about getting a cure for their Cancer yet you all sit here and worry about a 2-D Panel. Be thankful you're alive today, just take a minute to think and realise what PMDG are doing for US. Learn to appreciate Rob and the teams decisions. Take it, then move on. Try think about something a little more important than a 2-D Panel for your Flight Simulator.

PMDG is not a democracy, it's a business and businesses need feedback to make decisions. Yeah, if the 2D users never say anything PMDG will assume nobody uses 2D and they will quit development. If 2D users make it known that the 2D panels are still being widely used there's a chance they would reconsider and continue to develop the 2D panels.

 

As for Luke and Paul and AJ and all other anti-2D people here bellowing their opinion on why they think that 2D should be eliminated from the universe, it's really quite irrelevant what they think and I apologize to the community for arguing at any point with these people.

 

Their opinion doesn't matter. The people making the decisions at PMDG are the ones that matter and I want them to know that I'd like them to continue making 2D panels. Why? Because that's what I prefer to use. Whether Luke and Paul and AJ think this is wrong or unrealistic doesn't matter. They aren't the ones sitting in front of my computer screen.

Worst decision I made on these forums yet was even commenting on this topic, numerous of times. I personally thought Ryan or someone would say it how it is then lock it, something along the lines of that anyway..

Yes, I agree with you, we should all get along, and that means being able to hold different opinions without getting into a fight. PMDG isn't a democracy, it's a business. Businesses usually offer customers options so they get more revenue, but ultimately it's for them to decide and I accept that. What I find very hard to accept is why people who don't use 2D panels find it necessary to tell people who do how wrong they are, in very dismissive terms. Things have moved on apparently, but then they have to agree the VC is not perfect and other views are still necessary. I posted some screenshots showing why I find the VC is unrealistic sometimes, no one on the anti-2D side bothered to dispute that, so I assume they recognise the issue?

 

The VC performs exactly the same whether 2D panels exist or not, so why are VC users so keen to have 2D panels eliminated? I've never read a 2D user demanding that the VC be removed because they don't like it.

 

Even allowing for these differences we should get along. But then we have posts like this which make it rather difficult:

Someone so pleased PMDG is no longer providing full 2D panels in future (despite previously promising it would do so) that he can't stop laughing at the presumed dismay of "stubborn" 2D users. It's a disgraceful post.

Yet you keep coming back to it? This is the third time in this thread you've asked for it to be locked or disregarded. What's wrong with people expressing opinions? That's what a community forum is for.

You're right, you didn't say that, my mistake.

 

Upon re-reading some of your posts my arguments with you were stemmed from you saying that PMDG has made up their mind and the 2D users shouldn't be asking for the 2D cockpit.

 

That's where we disagree. I fully believe people can change their mind, including businesses.

 

The thought of "They have made their decision and it cannot be discussed" is what I don't agree with.

Have you tried using a different view since if you try using the view from the midde of the 2 seats than pan up than you able to see everything as per normal since this view is alot easier to start from in cold and dark Imo.

Are you sitting down? Look up towards the roof until you can't raise your head anymore. Now what do you do? What I do is turn my chin so I can see further up, however, the world looks sideways. Funny how realistic this unrealistic view can be.

I doubt they'll jump in for the same reason others regret commenting. Further, they have even less reason: the decision has been made. Why jump in and argue about something? They don't need to.

If the VC view from the pilot's seat was so realistic, as enthusiasts for it say, I wouldn't need to change views. In real life you can sit in the pilot's seat, look up at the IRS and see it correctly. In FSX you can't.
