April 25, 201214 yr Read this! http://www.blackboxsimulation.com/files/8213/3536/6162/BlackBoxAirbusXtreme-PressRelease.pdf Published in Blackbox Facebook page. I have a doubt. April 25, 201214 yr Wow $98 yikes! OH, nm it's apparently about $60...am I reading that right? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
April 25, 201214 yr Looks like $60 for an initial release that's missing WX radar and additional MCDU functionality (among other features)...and later in the year, $98 for the full monty. Purchasers of the "prologue" version (the initial release) will have their $60 credited towards the $98. I think. When it rains, it pours? This year may see Aerosoft's AirbusX Extended, Flight Sim Labs' Airbus 319/320, and now this. What's an FSX simmer to do?? Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
April 25, 201214 yr Yeah, good summary on the sudden Airbus release trend (though they have to arrive eventually). Looks like the 737 story of 2011/2012 to me. The full pack price made me look like while I haven't gained full faith in the previews of the VC for example. But seeing a detailed Airbus arriving remains interesting, therefore, the user reports from the "prologue" folks will have a lot of impact for me. Ambitious project, huh? Lets hope for the best. Thanks for the HU.
April 25, 201214 yr Commercial Member There's a saying here in London, you spend ages waiting for a bus then 3 turn up at once! Whoever releases a quality A330 first gets my money. Rob Prest
April 25, 201214 yr IDK, the closeups of the VC look very flat and lifeless... The gauges don't look sharp either... I'll hold off for the FSL version... So far the best looking version is the aerosoft one. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

April 25, 201214 yr After this news I think some devs might be in a hurry finishing up their Airbus for FSX. Good with some competition. Michael Gadeberg

They were supposed to have done this as of last year around November...We are now nearing mid-2012 and nothing in sight. They should stop playing games with all those little bitty airports in every other village, and stick to (and complete professionally), this major project Airbus Extended Version that every Airbus "pilot" is waiting on.
April 25, 201214 yr Hmm. Ironically, the Black Box Simulations tagline 'when all else fails' might turn out to be rather prophetic where their sales are concerned. We know FSL have a really solid A320 coming out, and I suspect that the only way I'll be looking at this Black Box one, is if that one fails to deliver. I wish them good luck, but we've seen this - 'buy it now and we'll deliver a more complex one later' model nosedive spectacularly twice already in FSX where the A320 is concerned, with both AirSimmer and Aerosoft failing to deliver on optimistic promises of that nature, and there's been a dearth of freeware projects that have managed to get past optimistic website pronouncements of a similar nature. My chips are still riding on Lefteris Kalamaras and the boys (and girls) at FSL. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 26, 201214 yr Hmmm..... Think I will wait for FSL. I skipped on the Ifly 737 and waited on the NGX and was rewarded. Leftris said November so that is not too far from Sept. Eric
April 26, 201214 yr Word Not Allowed[/color]' timestamp='1335392285' post='2351134']I don't know why, but this reminds me of one company... Reading the press release the same thing came to mind for me. One difference here that I think is great is that they are offering full credit when upgrading. But still, if I were part of a company that's working on a realistic Airbus, I would try not to do anything that could draw comparison to a controversial past project working towards the same goal. This isn't to deride the folks at Blackbox at all, of course. Jonathan Monreal Visit A Flightsim Blog
April 26, 201214 yr In my opinion the price is way too aggressive based on the Facebook shots I'm seeing of the VC. Not overly impressive by today's standards. I also love the response from them when this was pointed out... "Pick up some paint brushes my friend". That's a legitimate comment when the product is freeware made by people devoting their time strictly out of love for the hobby, but certainly not from a company charging a premium in the payware realm. Kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth. - Aaron
