April 26, 201214 yr The presentation of the 3rd VC-less aircraft isn't hopeful to which direction MS seems to develop their new product. For instance, When looking at the achievements to obtain: 20,000 hrs of flying 1.000.000 million passenger transported 200.000 pounds transported 10.000 landings etc.etc. I'v flight about 50 hours now, I hope MS doesn't think I will fly once more 19.550 hours with recent equipment? Or make still 250.000 missions with the Maule to transport each time 4 passengers? I suppose MS's marketing-strategy is to obtain time (and funds) between the launches of each DLC. In that development-period they try to satisfy (and hold) their customers: new planes, aerochaches, challenges. No big deal, a legal commercial strategy. Allthought a transparent communication with future consumer should help to avoid negative publicity. I hope they realise that after 'long' waiting the next DLC must be awful to keep their custumers (me ;-) interested. So, Alaska must be surpass Hawaii at least, and not only new scenery!! I will have patience and time will show us if MS will surprise us! In the meantime I Flight.., be it that I consume less fuel at the moment ;-) Just my 2 cents, happy cockpitt-flying ;-)
April 26, 201214 yr I'm hopeful that they will make those awards obtainable... but it might be a long way off.
April 26, 201214 yr 20,000 hrs of flying 1.000.000 million passenger transported 200.000 pounds transported 10.000 landings etc.etc. I don't care and hence I don't look at achievements. Maybe that's why I am still hopeful...?
April 26, 201214 yr I am hopeful no matter what direction it turns in. That's unless they decide that it's not working and shut it down. Why am I hopeful? Because there's so much you can do with it... OTHER than flying around the world just looking at the plane instead of the scenery. How many of you ACTUALLY buy things that make the actual sceneric areas look better? Not many. They buy things that make the airports look better and for realism. April 26, 201214 yr Not at all. At the current state of affairs nothing justifies any kind of optimism. The developers are strangely "incommunicado" and the sales figures are apparently not that stellar at all. MS is most likely going to cut the line anytime soon and sink Flight. Potential is only great if you make good use of it - otherwise it's just wasted.
April 26, 201214 yr Hopeful, but above all, very satisfied with it just as it is :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
April 26, 201214 yr Hope is last to die. I`ll wait for Alaska to see if Flight is doomed or not. I still have hope, but I`m less enthusiastic because of the interviews with Josh Howard and what we got as DLC until now...
April 26, 201214 yr hopefull for what? Microsoft has left behind our hobby and this community long ago...
April 26, 201214 yr Commercial Member Immagine the noise if any developer prior flight release would have made a payware Fsx plane without a cockpit !!! a plane without a cockpit in a flight simulator is like a fly on my wall !!
April 26, 201214 yr Cautiously optimistic and hopeful, it has only been two months. Lets see where it is at 6 months or the end of 2012.
April 26, 201214 yr Since it costs nothing to wait and be optimistic, that's what I'm doing. You can always return your copy of Flight for a full refund. While I wait, I have a fully tricked out FSX system to play with.

Alex, not sure i understand your statement. i am assuming you mean for FS9/FSX. If so, then many buy products to enhance the scenery, just look at the many posts on whether to get GEX, UT, Mega scenery, etc. While true that before Flight you had a large portion of simmers that did nothing but tubeliners where you only saw the scenery when landing and takeoff, there are still a large portion of us that flew low and slow and used products like ORBX which greatly enhance both scenery and airports. If anything the fact that the islands are done so well is Flights big saving point right now, but that does get old after awhile, especially when many of us are used to having the whole world to explore. I think much of the negativity is just pure frustration. We look at how nice the hawaiian islands are and we can only imagine how great the experience will be in other areas, only we don't have any other areas....yet. I am dreaming of seeing Alaska, the Caribbean, even Africa that matches the quality of what we have for hawaii right now. Myself, that is all I do during a flight is look out the window at the scenery, like in real life, but in real life i always have the aircraft around me as a frame for my view. Not so with no cockpit in the new aircraft, hence "my" frustration, LOL. I commend your enthusiasm, I really do. If nothing else, everytime you post I fire up Flight to help get my enthusiasm back up but it gets harder and harder each time MS releases new DLC that I can't use. I just got some new 70cm per pixel imagery for a project I have been working on for quite awhile in FSX and fired up FSX last for the first time since flight and ended up flying for a few hours insted of working on my project. it was a nice change of pace, but did make me miss some of the aspects of Flight, mainly the first person view and the new shadowing, would have been sweet with the new imagery. LOL Best, Michael KDFW
April 26, 201214 yr I am hopeful no matter what and satisfied with it just as it is . waiting pays off must of the time . I waited a long time to have some of the addons i had in FSX and the time i waited was worth it. Image removed as image is no longer available.
