July 8, 201213 yr I just EXCA all set up and I like the effects but I have one big problem. Before I started using EZCA, to pan around from any view I would hold the space down and move my mouse to look. Then letting go of the space bar the view would stay locked wherever I was looking. Now with EZCA installed, whenever I use the space bar and mouse to look around, the view snaps back after I release the space bar. In other words, the view wont stay locked on whatever it is I want to look it. Please help!!! Ben Weaver SWA8485
July 8, 201213 yr You need to read the manual. Ezca takes over the view control in FSX If you configured correctly, you would have removed the view assignment from FSX so you can now use mouse look or the hat switch, it is your choice. From experience you get a lot of problems if you try to use ezca view control as well as fsx view control. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
July 8, 201213 yr Wait, what Will?!? I was going to buy EZDok when I got back. Can you have it only on when you want it? (like cruise for example, to get good views of the airplane) i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
July 8, 201213 yr You can disable/enable ezca with a single key. Still it´s not advisable to use both fsx own shortcuts and ezca. Just delete the main assignments for view changes in fsx.
July 8, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the help. Should I delete ALL FSX view assignments or just the "Num", arrow, A, and S keys? Ben Weaver SWA8485
July 12, 201213 yr I disabled A, shift A, S and Shift S, along with all the panning controls in fsx. I then spend time whenever I get a new aircraft to set up EZCA views for that aircraft - its a great way to get acclimatized to the new cockpit. Inflight I have A and Shift A in EZCA moving up and down through the view list in EZCA and S and Shift S moving across categories in EZCA. I use middle mouse button to free look. For some aircraft I actually prefer this way of working to Track IR. If you want to see it in use, take a look at the 3 recent 737 vids I put up on YouTube.com/frooglesim Cheers, Pete
July 12, 201213 yr I use middle mouse button to free look. +1. For outside view, Space+mouse moving works for me. Best regards Cristiano Mueller
August 8, 201213 yr Author So after I tried messing with EZCA for an entire weekend I ended up removing the program from my system. I became very frustrated trying to get everything to work with EZCA as it did before the add on. Using the PMDG 737 I found that I couldn't use the mouse middle button because it interferes with the knob/button operation on the PMDG. Before installing EZCA I could hold space bar down and move the mouse to look and use the center mouse button to zoom in and out. And then releasing the space bar allows the mouse and center button to be used normally. If i can get this figured out I would still love to enjoy the benefits of the additional views. Anybody using EZCA with the PMDG 737 please share your settings! Any help would be very appreciated! Thank you all. Ben Weaver SWA8485

I removed it from my system after spending a few days of working with it, but ended up putting it back on. I use it primarily for being able to move along the exterior of the aircraft for livery painting and on occaisions I do use it for screen shots. I just globally disable it when I'm normally flying and use my multiple hats on the X52 controller system I have for moving up/down/sideways and panning. If I need to use EZCA, I just globally enable it and can use it. I have all my view commands setup for my controller and not ECZA. I guess it boils down to what each of us have programmed in the view settings in FSX and the hardware we use to look around with. One of these days, I'll make time to sit down and play with EZCA in a flying environment and see if I can use it as it was intended. It is a great tool. Don't give up on it. Good luck! August 8, 201213 yr I could not make head nor tail of it. My patience is not as good as some. :P So i cheated a little, and got the profile built by AOA for the NGX. Simply import ed it and bingo, all the physics and movements have already been worked out, i just needed to adjust the views to exactly how i wanted them. I use the Saitek Yoke, so i enabled the hat switch with ezca to pan around, and them press an override button to jump back to any of my preset views ( i have landing view, overhead, throttle pedestal pre programmed into the hat switch) and it works great. The effects are wonderful, can't fly without it now. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict

No sarcasm there. Just curious. Also; EZDok is going to be a change from the default viewing system -- that's the entire point of the program. The beauty is it's ease of use (after setting up your custom cameras [easy in itself]). Carl has posted one of several tutorials for those who refuse to read the manual. ^_^ They're actually quite good. At any rate, if you really want spacebar control, perhaps EZDC isn't cut out for you! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
August 9, 201213 yr Author Steve, Will, & Carl, I'm glad to see that I am not the only one who has had at least some difficulty setting up EZCA. You have all given me some hope that I might be able to get it set up to my liking with enough time, patience and good attitude. Thank you all for the great info! Will, Do you have a link to the AOA profile for the NGX? That would be great! Zach, I use the middle wheel to change the values of heading, speed, altitude, course, etc. When I had EZCA installed and used the middle mouse wheel to change a value, it zoomed the camera instead of allowing me to operate the knob. I am okay with using a different key to operate mouse view; this is just going to take me some time to get right. That is also a great video that Carl posted! In fact, I already had that video in my bookmarks from my last set up attempt. Thanks for all the info! Ben Weaver SWA8485

Thanks for all the info! The zoom is really not an issue because you can simply disable it by clicking the green 'Z' button on the EZCA window to deselect it, and you can use your mouse wheel normally again. and when you want to zoom, you have to hold down the spacebar and roll the wheel.
