July 30, 201213 yr Release Notes: X-Plane 10.10 Beta 5 We now support devices with an insane number of buttons and axis like the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog (That thing is an insane beast). Improved consistency in views. Right click and scroll are now used everywhere for camera movement and zoom respectively. Implemented Quick-Look view commands to allow users to save predefined views on a per-aircraft basis. See discussion here. OBJ File Format Extensions - docs coming soon!ATTR_no_shadow disables shadows for just one part of an OBJ; polygon-offset (ATTR_poly_os) geometry now works this way too. A new pixel-based manipulator lets you define drags that work horizontally or vertically, with scaling. This manipulator is intended to make draggable knobs. GLOBAL_cockpit_lit object attribute declares that ATTR_cockpit will use real 3-d lighting. This provides a better migration path for old airplanes that depend on translucency. Bug Fixes: Fixed broken hot-spots on Altimeters Fixed broken adjustment on attitude indicator Fixed 3/4 deflection on Joystick Axis page on some devices (Saitek Flight Stick, Epic USB, etc.) Fixed "sticking" hat-switches that would sometimes not turn off once pressed. Fixed Joysticks with missing buttons/axis on Windows such as the Logitech G940 or G25 Bump maps now work in .ter files again. The HDR pipeline has been severely thrashed in an attempt to improve the look of translucent scenery. While there are still translucency artifacts in HDR mode (and all airplanes should use the "glass" option in plane-Maker for windshields and canopies) translucency should be better than it was before. Fixed ugly blue glowing water at night. Added back 3-d cockpit toggle command to match v9. Airplane is converted to metric before plugins are run
July 30, 201213 yr I am crossing my fingers. Havent crashed and burned yet.. Seems promising. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD Richard 7950x3d | 32Gb 6000mHz RAM | 8Tb NVme | RTX 4090 | MSFS | P3D | XP12
July 30, 201213 yr Great,Can't wait to check it out.Thx 100%75%50%d8a34be0e82d98b5a45ff4336cd0dddc Patrick
July 30, 201213 yr shadow and HDR failures. check the screenshots at the org. I am skipping this one. bad performance on my demo install. * 2010 MacPro, 27' display * Snow Leopard * XP10 *
July 30, 201213 yr Precision Flight Controls (Vmax) USB yoke still does not calibrate correctly. Not able to go below 3/4 range on both X and Y axis. Null setting screen shows roll axis stuck to the left of the graphical display. Pitch axis is in the lower left corner. Another bug report sent. I'm using the demo. This issue is keeping me from purchasing.
July 30, 201213 yr shadow and HDR failures. check the screenshots at the org. I am skipping this one. I saw that, but you know what I still installed 10.10b5 because I want to help improve the product, there are probably other bugs which need to be squashed and the feedback is important to them. X-Plane will not improve If you take this "I'm skipping this one" type of mentality towards beta testing.
July 30, 201213 yr Warthog seems to have no improvement with forward pitch. Too bad they said the warthog was fixed when it wasn't, wish they had tested it.
July 30, 201213 yr shadow and HDR failures. check the screenshots at the org. I am skipping this one. bad performance on my demo install. No need to skip it. If you have any interest in the betas then it's recommended you keep two installs of X-Plane anyway. Since X-Plane is entirely self-contained in a single directory, just make a copy of that directory, and there you, one install for enjoyment and one install for tearing your hair out with the latest beta.
July 30, 201213 yr you guys did read what I posted, right? I am skipping this as full install, I try the betas with a DEMO install. * 2010 MacPro, 27' display * Snow Leopard * XP10 *
July 30, 201213 yr I feel like I'm still beta testing 10.05r1. I'm going to sit this one out, I'm so unfamiliar with the product now I wouldn't know if it was me or the software. I finally figured out how to see over the dash in the Cessna so I am looking forward to the new view controls. Rob Otto
July 31, 201213 yr Yay! My hat switch sticking issue is gone! :yahoo: Everything is running great for me so far. It's bug hunting time! July 31, 201213 yr My Carenado Bonanza is impossible to fly now and immediately dips its left wing and crashes on take-off. The Archer doesn't have this problem. I may try re-installing the Bonanza and see if that fixes it. Also, airport and runway lights are nearly impossible to see at night. They were a bit too dim for my taste in B4 but now they're invisible. I'm not sure if it's a .10 thing but many animations cause the video to either freeze or cause framerates to dip to around 1-5fps. I have shadows to Low which fixes it most of the time but some switches and landing lights still are affected and in HDR the trim wheel movement can cause it among others.
July 31, 201213 yr Hmmm, I see what you're saying Timmer. I also think the runway lights are too dim. I have not had any freeze ups, But I get little micro freezes here and there that last about a second, and my HDR performance seems to be a bit worse at same settings as well. I hope Ben irons these inconsistencies out soon. July 31, 201213 yr Author My Carenado Bonanza is impossible to fly now and immediately dips its left wing and crashes on take-off I can confirm that, very strange. I did a data output of the alieron / rudder / elevator outputs from the joystick, and the flight controls. Joysticks outputs were behaving themselves, however the flight control rudder started accelerating left, followed promptly by a downward pitch in the elevator I've tried a number of other aircraft, including the Seneca, and they have no problems
August 1, 201213 yr Glitchy slideshow for me at this point with HDR. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.
