I am perfectly happy with PNW. PF and NRM right now. A nice big good looking region (I even created a kml for Plan-G that shows the three regions as ONE huge region: the original kml's in Plan-G made me feel I was flying out of one addon into the other addon... :wink: I didn't like that. But I am a bit weird...). It offers enough variation to keep me entertained (as it has done ever since PNW was released). I might get CRM though to make the area to fly in a nicer shaped region. :wink: As it is now (without CRM) the lower part of PNW is a bit narrow and I hardly fly there anymore...

 

I completely stopped buying airport addons from Orbx: they are great but the later ones are getting more and more heavy on the system and besides, I found out I like consistency in my scenery: those addon airports looked a bit too good :wink: and hence I hardly ever flew to other airports... which got a bit boring. The other airports never looked good when you came from one of those addons airports.... After being away from FSX for a few months I reinstalled only the regions: I think Orbx did a fine job on enhancing all airports in NA: for me it's fine enough. Saves a LOT of money too.

I own all NA airports that were released before 2012 so it may seem like a waste of money, but well, I had big fun with those airports when I bought them and now I am having big fun with a large region that has hundreds and hundreds of airports that I can visit without thinking 'this doesn't look as good as where I just took off from'... :wink:

 

I will only buy addon airports again if the ENTIRE region will be of the same quality. But that won't happen, that's for sure.

The only way that ORBX or any other company is going to prosper and grow is to buy their products. If you want to continue to see more amazing regioms, how about showing some love and stop wondering why sceneries are not released faster? If you don't have NZ,you are missing some great FSX scenery.

If they put out a new section of US/Canada every 2 months I would buy every last one.

Since buying up 3 sections of US/Canada in June, I fly MANY TIMES A DAY

I have been hoping that they will eventually release the Southern Rockies Mountains (SRM). It had been planned at one time but was then it was shelved in favor of other regions. I have PNW and CRM,but SRM would have included most of Colorado,including the airspace over my house.

What would have been in SRM? How about the eye candy of Rocky Mountain National Park, the Great Sand Dunes National Park, the Black Canyon Of The Gunnison, Pikes Peak and The Royal Gorge? Spectacular mountains including the 14ER's which are the highest range of mountains in the contigous U.S.,all over 14,000'. Airports would include Leadville KLXV,the highest GA airport in North America. Other commercial airports would be Denver International Airport, and Colorado Springs/Peterson AFB. But let's not forget Aspen KASE, Eagle County KEGE, and Centennial KAPA, one of the busiest GA airports in the country.

There would be an awful lot to see in ORBX's version of the SRM, especially Colorado. It is no longer planned but I will be patient. One day they may return to their plan for the SRM and hopefully, my computer and I will still be here waiting to install it.

Aerosoft has a nice KASE. The only crappy thing about it, is their default runway texture. Other than that flaw, everything else is very nice about it.

 

Wish we had Eagle and Telluride and Denver Airports.

I don't think ORBX employees should waste their valuable time with things like, for example, sleeping. And eating. I think they should work 24 hours a day until the whole world is done. For the greater good.

I wish they'd concentrate on their excellent scenery and leave the addon aircraft side to other developers.

NCA and SRM would be awesome!

Having all FTX US regions and nearly all ORBX US airfields I am ready to purchase NCA region today! Also hoping it covers southern Oregon as I love to fly out of Ashland, Oregon. Lots of great folks there..A super agricultural coop too ...Many have read a book recently and many have original thoughts on a daily basis. But I digress. For my fav Colorado airfield it is 07V [Cuchara Valley at La Veta] 7013' asl so be prepared. Great views of East and West Spanish peaks hovering at 13,600+ ft..spectacular.Happy skies to all... :rolleyes:

I have PNW and a couple of the smaller airports for the area and I kind of feel like I've got quite enough now actually. And my favourite area to poodle around in is Bowerman which was completely free! I haven't been excited enough by any of their releases to want to buy one for a long time and don't visit their site like I used to. I think they released too much too soon for some areas and then nothing at all for others and have left some huge empty dead landscapes which actually looked pretty good with just UTX and GEX. There is only so much time to fly and to be honest, unless you have hours and hours everyday (in which case you should probably be doing something a little more constructive) - how much of the world do you really need?

I still have a bad taste in my mouth after a certain high level guy at ORBX wiped his feet on the pre pay guys at Xmas..(not that they had a sale but his reaction to the complaints and the direct insults to his paying customers).

You can take some comfort in knowing that they've always bordered regions, so it's a pretty safe bet that NCA will extend up to the bottom of PNW although how far east it will extend in Oregon is a real question as PNW is very narrow in that area.
