Qualitywings Avro for FSX released!

Did 3 flights with her now, not using FMC but flying by hand to test her flightdynamics. Wonderful stuff which feels quite realistic.

I'm in love with her!

Here's another RL pick at Schiphol Airport de-icing, again with (probably) me in the foreground as the supervisor.

Looking great, just like the real thing. Looking forward to taking her for a spin myself.

Anyone else having an issue with using GSX for pushback in this bird? Gives me an error something about pushback not available for this aircraft.

- Aaron

Have you updates GSX or the Standalone Addon manager? They just added support for it so it might be in the new update. It also shows in their list of supported aircraft level two

I will try it out in a bit. Where where you trying it? What airport and gate if you remember.

Yes, I did update with the stand alone addon manager and it does not indicate that there are any updates required when in-sim. I've done two flights so far, both said the same thing, the first from KBOS when doing the tutorial flight, then again from KBUF. Unfortunately I don't recall which gate I started from. Neither of which I tried any gate services other than pushback so maybe that is worth trying, but pushback squawked in both cases. Thanks for the reply.

Same issue Slait. I will mention this in the support forums and you can chime in also if you want.

My first thought is that the built in pushback truck QW has for it is interfering? IDK.

AES works fine.

MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad

I was thinking about ASE at one time but I fly all over the place with no rhyme or reason. I didn't like the idea of having to get credits to add airports to my list. I like how GSX just let's me do whatever. Within reason of course, don't think it will work at a 500' grass strip but ya...lol.

What do you honestly think of it?

I have AES and GSX. I use AES when it is available and GSX when it is not. I really don't like all of the pop up messages and constraints with GSX but many people prefer GSX over AES.

Example: I was flying the QW757 and using GSX. I wanted to clear everything for departure and get pushback. I closed the main cabin door and was expecting the safety briefing to start but GSX wanted me to reopen the doors. I guess I closed them too soon but if I reopened the doors, I wouldn't have got the safety briefing and I would have messed up the whole QPAS sequence. AES wouldn't have done that because it doesn't limit you to a specific sequence of events in the way GSX does. Of course, if I used GSX more I would be accustomed to its requirements but since I use it sporadically, I find it a little heavy handed.

I haven't bothered trying out GSX with this aircraft yet - still having fun learning the systems...

A flight I am using to do this is the Launceston (Tasmania) to Melbourne flight on the Qantaslink repaint.

Don't think they do this anymore with a BAE146 but I took it back to Melbourne after spending a week driving around the Tassie as a tourist a few years ago now - 10 years??

I use Orbx scenery for both australia and Melbourne airport.

I noted a big hit on FPS when landing and taxiing around melbourne.

I am also experimenting with Preview DX10 mode and apart from the occasional flash of texture, it seems to be working - jury is still out on that though - I do not get any shadowing in cockpit as I thought I might and some of the hit on Melbourne may be due to DX10 - don't know for certain

Most addons aren't tested in DX10 since it's just a preview and not a full mode.

Regarding low FPS, the Orbx airpot sceneries are known to be very very heavy on frames.

Melbourne has many airports all clustered very close to an FPS hungry city.

I purchased YMAV and YMMB, but I avoided Essenden and YMML and just put AFCADs in place instead.

Excluding YMML and YBBN, Orbx is running fine on current hardware After tweaking the airport configuration.
