August 30, 201213 yr WACO Classic Aircraft Battle Creek, Michigan. It uses the Jacobs R-755 300hp. They still build this plane! Yes... they have actually been building it for several decades now. The TCDS (type certificate data sheet) is public domain (under the original Waco Co.) but Classic Aircraft came in... made the necessary engineering mods and received an STC (supplemental type certificate) to meet todays standards, that was actually amended to the original type certificate (that is very unusual btw... ). They had two models of the Waco... the one that was dropped (I have the company literature *somewhere* for both) was a two-place model. This one (above) is actually a three-place plane (wider & longer fuselage etc) and is certified day & night VFR & IFR. N64JE is currently owned by a company in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (same colors as pictured above)... these planes are typically purchased to give the "ol' time" biplane sight-seeing rides... was/is an (expensive) dream of mine... -Rob
August 30, 201213 yr Wow.. But how does it fly? Is Stolle doing their flight models too or just Carenados? If it's a decent flight model I'm buying it..
