September 1, 201213 yr Would my laptop run the 777: Intel 2nd Generation i5 (2.3 GHz) 6 GB RAM Radeon 6490M graphics card Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Arzaan Khairulla
September 1, 201213 yr Arzaan, I use the NGX on a Toshiba dual core 2.66ghz CPU machine with 4GB, a slow hard drive , a GT230M Nvidia card and 32 bit Windows 7. I also use REX SP4 and weather as I fly exclusively within Australia and have global resolution set very high but have traffic turned down. It runs like a dream. If what they say is true that if you can run NGX you can run the 777 then you should be fine with yours. The only proviso is that my machine does not run well in certain situations just in the VC which is why I fly with a 2D panel all the time. That means I won't be buying the 777 which is a shame but I can't afford a new laptop just for FSX. It is interesting to hear from others however that EZDOK can overcome some of the performance obstacles that the VC creates for lower end machines. Might be worth following up. Gerry

September 2, 201213 yr Commercial Member Rule - if you can run the NGX, you'll have no problems running the 777 or 747v2 - both should perform as well and likely better than the NGX does. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

September 2, 201213 yr And you need to adjust your view position because in the 2D cockpit you seem to be looking down on the runway. VC is fine though. Using EZDok, Bryan? Happens to me with it. Just hit disable and reset viewpoint. --Peter Fabian

September 6, 201213 yr I run NGX okay with a Laptop (See my specs on the left). Great choice going with ASUS! With an addon airport I get 15-20FPS, that's UK2000 EGLL. But without an addon I can get 20-30 on the ground in the VC. Airborne, normally around 25 average. The exterior and wing views I'm getting 40-50! I do not use REX or anything of that nature. I've got my settings fairly high, some people helped me with Nvidia Inspector (which I recommend!). I based my settings around more detail around the Aircraft & Flying and less on buildings. Makes sense right? Woah! First of all, ill be studying in London i a couple of weeks so we can together and discuss some 777 and PMDG Secondly 15-20fps at an addon airport is crazy high for a laptop and im reassured I ordered the right PC Thirdly I wish I could have hade an i7 but sadly it was out of my budget but my processor can turboboost from 2.5 to 3.10 ghz which is not bad What I really want is to run addon scenery with modest traffic and Vatsim I look forward to those 11:40 hauls on the 777 that start out at a busy airport (on vatsim) and carry me over to africa e.g. joburg, addis ababa, and nairobi (as well as other places but I get the best frames there) By the way, I did a little tweaking using the Bojote app and setting EVERYTHING except coulds to very low and wound up with 20-30 fps even at heathrow or gatwick on the NGX in 2D and spot view using a 2.0 ghz pc. In the VC i got 12-15 but its promissiong You can get a legal version of Windows 8 RTM through a Technet or MSDN subscription. I believe MS is also now offering a 90 day demo to the public. Win 8 is not bad. After a few hours it grows on you. (And Windows 8 works perfectly on any Mac ^_^ ) I dont trust it! Not yet at least. Thats wat they told me when I got vista (32 bit) and now i suffer from memory problems on the NGX! Plus I was in the market for a new laptop and couldnt wait months for the product to be fully out, tested and tweaks appear on the forum. Only time will justify windows 8 Flying Tigers Group
September 6, 201213 yr Woah! First of all, ill be studying in London i a couple of weeks so we can together and discuss some 777 and PMDG Ha, that takes some time to get to know the place. I pretty much know the airport and surrounding airspace of the back of my hand. As long as you don't say "Request IFR Clearance.." over ATC it'll be alright :LMAO: I could post a Heathrow ATC tutorial if you'd like to learn the correct real world procedures. - Luke Pabari

Where you at Heathrow on VATSIM this evening? Funny cuz I was there simming a scandinavian flight and I did "request IFR Clearance" also Im also considering trying BA's exoctic 777 routes such as Jamaica, the maldives and such As soon as I receive my new hardware I will be unstoppable in the air! Flying Tigers Group
September 6, 201213 yr Where you at Heathrow on VATSIM this evening? Funny cuz I was there simming a scandinavian flight and I did "request IFR Clearance" No I've not been on Vatsim over a month, been too busy. Plus I moved to LA so if I want UK ATC I generally have to fly around ten am. Once the 777 is out I'll be on a lot more. " Heathrow Clearance good morning, Speedbird 279, we are a 777, stand 534, information echo 1020, request clearance to Los Angeles please" - That's standard for asking clearance at LHR & most other UK Airports. I use the same format worldwide because it tells the Controllers exactly what they need to know. Even in the real world when I ask for clearance it's pretty similar. - Luke Pabari

Win 8 is built on Win 7, which is pretty good. I'm not a Microsoft salesman, but Win 8 has so far been pretty good to me. The Metro is thing is goofy but I can see a lot of everyday people really liking it. But you're right, waiting for SP1 is always a good idea. B. September 7, 201213 yr i just bought an ASUSG75V with the 3rd gen i 7, 12 gigs of ram, and a Geforce GTX card, can I run it? i have the G74, clear skies i can get upto 60 fps, i dont run traffic, because it will really bog it down, i use REX and ASE for weather and run into a little bit of stuttering if i go through clouds, nothing too bad though, knocks me down to 15-20 fps on really high density coverage though. so yours should run it no problems.. i also dont run FSX with any scenery adons except blue print KMEM. it does get choppy on that airport, down to like 10fps. this is all with the NGX btw. low ed stuff like GA aircraft doesnt seem to bother my FPS at all.
