What?? Who's post are you referring to? There's absolutely nothing wrong with spending $50... it says right in the description... HOME USE

That's a good way to get this thread deleted. Personal experience speaking on this minefield of a topic.

Just as long as posts doesn't cross the line and enter into a dissection and interpretation of the P3D/Vendor(s) EULA(s) (which usually leads to a fire debate) AVSIM has no issue.

He [slait] may have been referring to your first post regarding the EULA stating it's for home use as well. I could be wrong...

I for one don't want to fly around with a watermark on my screen...do you?

Correct. No more statements from me on the topic. I've learned my lesson.

It's not very intrusive at all, appearing as it does at the very top-right of the screen:

Amazing how people don't want to spend $199 on a watermark-free version of P3D yet have probably spent thousands of dollars on addons which they probably don't even use anymore.

Guys and gals, FSX is on life support and P3D is shaping up to be the continuation of the FS saga with a bright future (DX11 support in v2.0).

Even though the watermark has been said not to be a hindrance, there still is an option out there to have P3D without it. Lets support LM by supporting P3D.

Damn, just looked at the thread's title and it has nothing to do with P3D. lol My bad...

Now that's the kind of mindset that is conducive to progress!

Does anyone have any idea of the number of copies sold?

I can easily see how a developer might make a product hoping that it would sell enough copies to justify the time and effort that went into making it, only to discover the returns on even a successful product do not justify that effort. If the return had been high enough, I have a hard time believing a developer would not continue to make new products.

That being said, there would appear to be a learning curve in developing an aircraft. Once one has taken the time to learn the secrets of Microsoft Flight Simulator, it would seem that knowledge could be applied to other products as well.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but is a 757 or even a 787 really all that different from the 767 from a programming standpoint? Maybe I don't fully appreciate the complexity of these poducts, but it would seem that after the knowledge needed to make them has been acquired, applying that knowledge to other products should be relatively easy.

My conclusion probably would be that the sales numbers for the 767 must have been dismal.

I would hazard a guess the LevelD 767 is one o the best selling add ons ever developed for flightsim.

I agree

I actually don't ;-)

Hey Guys,

Some of us that have been around MSFS for a long time remember that the 767 was first done by an American Airline real world pilot. He was really dedicated in reproducing the airplane that he flew. He was supported by a team of folks from around the world all who had real world jobs. As anyone who has flown this great bird knows they did a just FANTASTIC job. I had the great privileged of meeting which Eric. Then came the sad day of 9/11. Both American and United 7XX aircraft were used in that tragic event and some media folks had declared that the MSFS 767 had been used to train the terrorist. Eric was very touched by that incident, first he was a real world American Airline pilot that was flying that day. Second to be reminded that the program he loved may have been used by the terrorist really bothered him and he backed away from the 767 development team. A lot of us reminded him that guns kill people not the gun maker. Eric withdrew from sim development, but his GREAT support team kept the 767 sim going.

Those that question what they are doing just don't realize these guys are NOT a business, but a group that love the simming business and have a passion for a great airplane. If you want to post comments like they will never do a 757 or anything you have no idea about the passion these guys have for our hobby. Yes we all know that the VC needs an update and it will come. Daryl Shuttleworth has all my admiration for answering the same questions over and over again. Yes he gets cranky at times, but lord knows I could not answer those same questions days on end.

I just want to say the LDS team are not big business like PMDG or FSDT but they do wonderful, no GREAT work. There 767 has been selling for years and is still one of the best addons in the MSFS franchise, that says a lot about how good they are. Keep going guys and all the best to the team.
