Coolsky DC-9 Released!

Featured Replies

747-fan....Did you try the Venetubo fix? It works great for me? I'm still on the fence with this DC-9. I love the slightly older pre-FMC planes where you have to really navigate. There just seems to be a bit too much negativity counter-acting the positive reviews surrounding this aircraft. Maybe I'll try it on my rig. We'll see.

What are UHDT textures? I'd rather not see images of a VC if I can't expect to get the same quality at home on MY rig. It's like the fast food restaurant commercials where it looks so great until you actually order it and see the difference.

Hi there Philip,

The UHDT textures are how I originally textured the cockpit, so 4096x4096 as per the above Screen Shots, that goes for all textures, the Diffuse, Specular, Bump and Reflection maps that DX10 uses.

The released textures were 2048x2048 on the Flight One release.

So just to make it clear, these are not part of the Flight One / Coolsky Model as released on the market at present.

They are textures I've made at McPhat,

and discussions under way on how to release them.

Hopefully by the time the first Service pack is released for the Flight One release, as these textures also include the ADF updates, plus any others that may crop up as part of the bug hunting, inlcuding the issue some are having with the overhead being blurry all being well.

Any textures for that release will be at the Flight One size given of 2048x2048.

The extra's above will either be an addon or a seperate upadate, as stated above, that's still in question as to how.

You keep referring to a "Flight1 release". Is there another release I'm not aware of?

- Aaron

Flight 1 release was the 2048 texture product that is released and available already. It looks like Mcphat is going to release 4046 exterior texture and 4096 texture VC package with interior color options as above. Sounds pretty good to me...I shall be purchasing that's for sure:)

Hi there Slait,

No, Flight one are the only ones I know of to release the complete package,

I just worded it like this so there no mis-understandings as to which team does which bit,

and why.

Ok...makes sense now...nice surprise that the 4096 textures will be coming out on the internals and externals

Still the same issues here. Good fsx.cfg, ******* fix and double checked 4096 enabled, loaded FSX saw blurry VC textures and turned off FSX. Re-checked fsx.cfg, still maxtextureload 4096.

Could it might be some kind of Nvidia enhancer issue or something? I do like this aircraft but looking at something this blurry is damned distracting.

Blurry textures here as well with 4096 enabled.

Hey is there a way to make the yoke disappear as I do all of my flying from the VC and yokes just get in my way.

Huh, how could it be in your way, in normal VC camera for me its barely visible on the bottom of the

screen, not in the way of anything at all, quite unlike some other planes where it really does get in the way?

Maybe you could be more specific, I fly only in the VC and I see no blurry textures at all,

what I call blurry textures are in something like the Sky Sim or a Wilco overhead , I

see nothing like that here, on the contrary, everything is crisp and clean, quite beautiful

in fact.

This is making me confused. I now understand that the outside textures are low definition, but now that the Vc textures are too? I don't think it looks all that bad in quality as it is, but I'm having problems with the flashing boxes appearing, and now I learn that I don't even have the good ones yet. As long as they are free, I won't complain, but it isn't what I thought I was getting. And also if I already have problems with the low ones, I wonder what will happen with the high ones. Will they fix?

Have you bought your texture issues with flashing boxes up at Flight one or Coolsky support forums?

That's something I havent seen before.

The 4096 textures probably arent fo you if you are having difficulty with the 2048 ones, that's how i originally made them though.

As stated above, if hey are released, you will need a good graphics card, for instance, with 2048 i can run them on a 512Mb card, just.

4096x4096 won't stand a chance. and for best viewing, I would probably reccomend an absolute bear minimum of 1024 Mb dedicated graphics Memory.

The higher the better, as the textures arent CPU related, but may make your graphics card cough if it does not have enough memory.

560Ti ought to do the trick? Haven't taken it up on their support forum yet, will do that ASAP. Your pics look fantastic, would be nice to get to see those textures. I think this qualifies as blurry:

Can the ENB bloom mod be a cause?

Thankyou,

That's what I'm running with no problems.

Hmm, that might be able to be cleared up similarly with the overhead.

I'll switch back to 2048 textures tomorow and have a look.

No, I didn't report it because many have already reported it on the cutomer support forums, and here too. It is already a known issue with a growing list of sufferers. My card is a GTX 480. If I have enough resources to run the NGX at 30 fps locked at my slider settings, with no similar behavior, then I guess I'm up the creek.

All I can say is hang in there too see what comes up in the patch,

unfortunatly that's out of my hands as to it's content and when, although working corrections when they are sent my way, although I will have a play with texture resolutions and mip maps too,

which are the main culprits the sharpness is adjustable.

Coolsky may be able to help you already, I am not on there support forum at present, but do forward any issues to Coolsky through Mcphat if it comes up here.

You just may not get an answer here, or the one you were looking for as I am not in the loop on everything.

Well your cockpit color variations preview just sold me on the package. I already purchased one livery package for it and will definitely be switching out that ugly greenish color so popular back in the day for your upgraded colors.

May I ask how they will be available as an option? Will it be a config option? It will I have a certain aircraft preselected for the colors.
