September 21, 201213 yr Moderator idon't know what all the idiocy is with the ipads and ipods . Reminds me of the stampedes and riots over Cabbage Patch kids. I wouldn't have one if they were free. September 21, 201213 yr Shouldn't that have been iSee? iThink you are right, it should have been iSee.
September 21, 201213 yr By the way, for the loss of YouTube there is at least a temporary solution: Got to M.YouTube.com in your Safari browser. Hit the Add Bookmark Button and Click "Add to home screen" Instead. Voilà! You now have a replacement YouTube tab on your screen. (can do this for any site) A stopgap for the missing Google Map that may be at least temporarily satisfactory is "Live street view free" Which is available in the ap store.... for free. Be prepared for some nagging from the new IOS about your passwords and added security. I hate that crap, especially when mandatory, and usually fill them out with....... impolite things. There are already great Youtube apps for the iPhone and iPad. They are actually better than the YouTube that was a part of the Apple products before. Also, I guarantee that within month, Apple's app for Maps will all be sorted out and will work a well or better than the Google Maps before. That's the way it works! Stan
September 22, 201213 yr isee. :Nerd: I think that even people who have some qualms about Apples strategys, like no smart card expansion, no flash, and now no google maps and no YouTube (even if workarounds are available or on the way) find themselves tied to and unwilling to leave behind the very tasty apple app and etc ecosystem. There is simply nothing that matches it. Sent via Aes Sedai We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. September 22, 201213 yr The only thing that I see so good about the apple products are their build quality - the operating ecosystem has some catching up to do. That's a very interesting statement. I am not an apple sycophant, but I have been pleased like a lot of people by the simple fact mentioned at the end of this video. "It all just works" We are all connected..... September 22, 201213 yr I love my iPhone and iPad because they feel good in the hand, look nice and work. I like the App Store my music and movies all in one spot. They're the only Apple products I own. When something else comes along that works better that I like ill switch. I don't have any loyalty to Apple other than stated above it just works and I enjoy them. Randy Swofford
September 22, 201213 yr That's a very interesting statement. I am not an apple sycophant, but I have been pleased like a lot of people by the simple fact mentioned at the end of this video. "It all just works" It's a good video and yes you are correct and I quote "for the ordinary person, it all just works". My wife loves her iphone and ipad (for the most part) and as I have said, the build quality is quite superb. I personally like (and need) to do a lot more with my tab and phone. Android is the only solution at this stage - for my personal (and my business) needs. I do have a question though - does the iphone5 now have the ability to make a videocall over 3G? It is something I have been doing for about 3 years now and was a deciding factor when evaluating our smartphone requirements.
