still no airbusx extended...

Featured Replies

I just hope the Aerosoft Extended version gets some 'basics' right; like OPEN and MANAGED climb modes that actually work correctly (adjusting pitch of aircraft to maintain an airspeed, rather than 'fudging' the FSX default autothrottle system to keep an airspeed, as the standard Airbus X does. :(

OP CLB, OP DES, Selected DES/CLB (V/S), are all fully operational, working as they should, and Managed CLB/DES are being tweaked and perfected as we speak, based off the basic factors of CI, density altitude, and GW.

Kyle

Yeah, I think putting some older scenery/aircraft products on big sales sometimes would be right thing to do as it would allow also people who regularly couldn't buy these products to get them.

At least that's what I'm planning to do with my scenery products when I have made some more of them, put them on big sale after long enough time from release has passed.

That would certainly be a good idea, even western customers might be attracted by the sales : )

I think the fslab will not be released anytime soon, so the airbus extended will be a good start while we wait for a more sophisticated simulation...<br /><br /><br />David

That is great news, and thank you for clarifying. This will be a sure fire purchase for me now then.

a core airbus fcu mode not included ??

for now, cheers

And there's a video on the Aerosoft forum preview thread that proves it.

Many thanks for your help. I went to that forum and had a look at the videos. I must say it looks great and I am looking forward to the release.

Thanks again!

Its weird how they have spent all that time and resources on building a realistic bus, and at the same time have chosen to not include a basic autopilot mode. OK, I understand not including a failure simulation model, but an autopilot mode?

Personally it's not just the lack of A319 that puzzles me. If you bothered to model the entire Airbus system logic (MCDU, Law's and so on), wouldn't it make great business sense to model the A330 and A340 as well? Basically what Phoenix (PSS) and later Wilco/Feelthere did.

The differences between the A319/20/21 and A330/40-200/300 are minimal both visually and technically. The A318 and the newer A340's (500/600) are a little more evolved but still very close to their older siblings.

To me this is a no brainer, but Aerosoft seems to be unwilling to consider it.

I suspect they will find themselves with a best-seller on their hands once the Airbus Extended is released. If I'm right maybe those sales numbers will knock some sense into them and they'll reconsider. I'd happily hand over up to $200 for the entire family, and I don't think I'm alone either.

+ 5... Me tooo . I would love to see the 340-300 and 600, Now that woull be awesome. Why bother with the little guy when you can go with the bigger guys. Kinda like why go with a Cessna .182, when you can go with a Boeng 737..Or, why go with a 737, when you can get a 777, 747, MD-11 etc. I'm sure many people are happy with the smaller A320...And that's fine. BUt, like PSS, I would love to see the bigger guys modelled.

FSL, have stated they will also bring out the big guys for some real big fun..Let's see what happens.

Although Aerosoft do not model every system, but they completed most of the systems which we simmers will use. (except for TRK/FPA, but I hope they will do it)

I don't understand why some people keep asking for something like weather radar, fire simulation, system failures simulation, wing flex, etc. I believe, even developers model every system, 99.99% of simmers cannot operate them properly. PMDG almost get the NGX fully simulated, but who has read through thousands of pages to learn how to fly it? How many people understand the structure of air system? Then why people are expecting developers to make things which they don't know how to use?

Sometimes we can think in a more realistic way. Full system simulation is definitely great. However, do we need that?

I guess I could agree with you on this since I don't t actually mind not having a fire system simulated and wingflex and radar etc... but you also have to remember that alot of simmers out there are real pilots and they are already accustomed to flying the real thing so not having these features is a turn off. I guess this is why developers model every single bit.

No promises.... seriously.

But as we are still on hold waiting for the MCDU updates other progress that we did not anticipate is moved forward. Right now we think that the complete FPA/TRK is done in code. If we can get the PFD updated to show the birdy that will be a fine thing to add. Again no promises on that but I think it is good to know that we are not sitting still eating our fingernails.

Hope this satisfies a few ppl.

do you have a link / reference to the included quote ??

for now, cheers

... worst of this delay is that new functions are still being developed..... when I think that AS announced 2 missed dates already.... Of course, all the beta testers who are enjoying daily the plane keep on giving lessons to those who complaints ..... They would not have the same attitude if they were waiting for months too !

too much, too soon....

i'm mostly with pau & after reading kyle's note i agree .. after all this time, a core fcu function i thought was included in the original airbus x is now the cause for delay !!

& that's given the notes that trk/fpa was not an an inclusion in the extended as of a month or so ago,,,, one wonders !!

& pau, don't fret, the beta testers are only playing with an incomplete / unreal simming .. i am waiting for one of them to humbly explain why trk/fpa was originally NOT an inclusion & what the real delay is !!

maybe it's because the flushing loo works

for now, cheers
