man im getting bored waiting...

I may not even buy it personally. From what I've seen it doesn't look all that enticing for me and I never fly the Airbus X. I just can't get into Airbus unless it's an A380 A340. I'm still thinking about picking up the Simcheck A300. Any opinions on this one?

The Simcheck A300 is probably one of the most underrated simulations out there in my opinion.

 

Sound and visuals are top notch. MCE released voice control for it yesterday which i will try this weekend, and the Simcheck team will bring out an update to add an FMC early October.

Sorry you feel that way, it's frustrating all around. Addon development takes time to get it right and to get it to the target state. If you've ever worked with an addon project or really paid attention to the development of one you will be well aware of that fact. It is coming along more and more every day, and being heavily worked on and tested each day of the week since development started. It will come when it is ready, just takes some patience.

I'm put off by other things. I can wait, but not having an A319 is a major flaw. Makes me wonder why should i waste money on the Extended when FSLabs will be releasing the whole family (except the A318) and it'll have a complete simulation of the 'buses. I never understood why there is an A321 and not an A319...

I don't know either, minus what has been said by the developers/project planners about the matter. I'd love both the short-bus A318 and the A319, but as far as I know for now they aren't up for doing it. I'm definitely on the lookout for the FSLabs A320 as well, but it does cater to certain simmers being so advanced. The level PMDG has set with the NGX is extremely evident on expectations for the Airbus X Extended release, as evidenced by the questions and concerns on the dedicated forum over at Aerosoft alone, but the target was always a more advanced intermediate-level sim as opposed to a full-on 'do everything' sim, and that was made clear from the get-go. I will say though that it is a vast improvement on the Airbus X, especially in terms of the FBW, MCDU functionality (obviously), and autopilot functions.

 

The way it is now, the biggest differences between the NGX and the Extended are in failures and the more extreme side of system depth. So, it's up to everyone to figure out what they want from it, and like you said if you want to drop the cash for it. As it stands in my opinion it will be an excellent bridge for more basic users to move on towards more advanced sims like the NGX and soon to be FSLabs A320, and still offer something for more advanced users like us.

 

All of this is just my own personal, honest opinion.

I didn't know FSLabs weren't doing the A318. Bummer, I was hoping to to do BA's JFK-LCY route.

 

As for the Aerosoft delays, I think people won't mind any more once it's released. Just think of the NGX, and how long that took.

If they release with major bugs, then you will be the first to cast stones at them for that.

Wuhhhhh , that was kinda strong, but hey it makes sense. And I agree if we want something good we need to wait and have patience. FSL 320 has taken a looooooong time as well.. But again, we just hope these two developres manage to bring us the joy of the Airbus!
