October 1, 201213 yr To the OP: Take these steps: 1. Clean re-install of Nvidia Drivers: A. Download and Install Driver Sweeper B. Uninstall ALL Nvidia Related stuff from the Control Panel. C. Then, re-start(as many times neccesary) D. Once drivers are uninstalled, open up driver sweeper and select all of the Nvidia related stuff. Then, select "Analyze" and then remove all related files. 2. After fully wiping your system of Nvidia related material, go to Nvidia's website and download the latest driver. 3. After installing the latest Nvidia Driver, go navigate to "C:/Users/Yournamehere/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX/FSX.CFG" 4. Delete your FSX.CFG 5. Now navigate to "C:/Users/Yournamehere/AppData/Local/Microsoft/FSX/Shaders" 6. Delete the folder named shaders. 7. Now launch FSX and start with the default flight. 8. Close FSX and go follow Word Not Allowed's Software and Hardware Guide. 9. Report back here with your findings.
October 1, 201213 yr Hi I don't know if this helps at all. I have a fairly high end computer i7, 12Gb Ram, nVidea GTX 535. I had FSX installed and it was absolutely like yours. Low fps and juttering. Today I reinstalled using the method...Install FSX, reboot, goto default flight, install SP1, reboot, load default flight, Install SP2, reboot. I then went to that site which will tweak your FSX.cfg file. However the big thing which made a vast difference was installing an external FPS limiter. Today FSX is running brilliantly on my machine!!! Probably just as good as Prepar3d runs on it. Hope this helps somewhat.
October 1, 201213 yr Hmm you should get much better FPS with those settings you have at your Innsbruck shot, from what I can tell from that shot the sim isn't even maxed out. As already mentioned overclocking is going to help but logically one should be able to achieve at least steady 30fps with every complex add on at any airport with todays hardware for a software released 6 years ago.

Also think that screenshot looked like crap , but thought it just was the scenery  And frames at 7 with low settings, something must be seriously wrong. Never had that bad performance even before I overclocked.
October 1, 201213 yr There's either something horribly wrong with your cooling or the core temperatures listed in speedfan are incorrect. Could you check the temperatures with RealTemp instead of speedfan? vatsim s3
October 1, 201213 yr Nuno, what are these tweaks? I haven't seen them before. ALLOW_SHADER_30=1 DisablePreload=1
October 1, 201213 yr Just to add to the above... your CPU temps are way too high. Maybe better cooling for your CPU would be the first step to take! Bert
October 1, 201213 yr Thats pretty impressive Nuno, thinking about changing my 560 ti to a 670. What traffic settings are you using ?
October 1, 201213 yr Thats pretty impressive Nuno, thinking about changing my 560 ti to a 670. I curious about this myself, have a GTX480 would i get more performance upgrading my graphic card? sorry for hijacking this thread
October 1, 201213 yr I curious about this myself, have a GTX480 would i get more performance upgrading my graphic card? sorry for hijacking this thread Yes you will get an improvement. Maybe not that much. Maybe yes. But i think you will see improvement. To the original post. Get yourself a hyper 212+ or a corsair H series cooler and overclock your cpu. If you dont overclock you will not see what could be your biggest fps increase. Fsx is a ghz hungry program. Good luck. October 1, 201213 yr Author Thanks for all the help people, but unfortunately the tweaks methods are not working in my case.. I think i could suspect 2 major problems 1st is that my processor is not Overclocked & second I will need to re-install to check my fsx(now that's something very time consuming but I also suspect if it's a clash issue with sceneries)..
October 1, 201213 yr Even whitout overclock you should get better performance than you have. Do you have UTX?, When i used it I had to tune down on amount of road traffic displaying on the different roads(In the UTX control panel), meaning not have road traffic on every small farm roads but only on the main highways, also think i had to do something with the lightning, but its a while ago since i used it so I dont remember exactly. Before I tuned those things my FSX was a slideshow. And if youre using DX9, don't use bloom, lens flare and shadows.. And in Aircraft settings untick all the boxes in Exterior settings And go easy on the amount off car traffic and boat traffic
October 1, 201213 yr I had same PC and had the same issues. In my case, I start drinking until ******* and Word Not Allowed came in. I am getting 30 FPS now and I stopped drinking. Regis Biassala
October 1, 201213 yr I had same PC and had the same issues. In my case, I start drinking until ******* and Word Not Allowed came in. I am getting 30 FPS now and I stopped drinking. :LMAO: Yeah, kostas guide is great, personally I only use Bufferpool 0, Affinitymask tweak and Highmem fix. The others just caused problems on my setup(invisible traffic etc). And I don't lock frames(Things run smooth with frames locked, but somehow locking frames hurt my eyes badly and I can't use it, getting dizzy) And things also runs smooth for me whithout it so I don't see the need in locking it. The bufferpool tweak was the real performance boost for me. Thanks to whoever came up with that
October 2, 201213 yr I wouldn't worry about FSX until you stop cooking your CPU! The CPU is cutting back with temps over 94C. Make sure Hyper Threading is off, in BIOS, about 6C. Take out OC and set default. Ensure AF=14 in fsx.cfg. See if that brings your temps below 70C. If the temps are below 70C, see how FSX runs. Dave
