October 1, 201213 yr Commercial Member I can't take the Airbus seriously because it always calls me a retard right before I touch down...throws me off my game. (yes, I know it's a call to retard the throttles) Kyle Rodgers

October 1, 201213 yr There is no such thing as a "British" accent. There are English, Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish accents but no "British". I hope this helps Bill Casey
October 1, 201213 yr There is no such thing as a "British" accent. When I hear an accent that sounds English, I think British... Must be my unedumacted Yank mind... Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"

October 1, 201213 yr The real Airbus do have a British voice as an option. Also note the "Retard" callout is talking over the terrain warnings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u43A2Nk1qM0 More info here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/372480-gpws-voice/#entry2358906

October 2, 201213 yr I want HRH Kate to read me snow white and the seven dwarfs as she tucks me into bed every night. So yes... the British/English version is O.K. To each his own, but I'd rather have Pippa tucking me into bed every night... Why do I feel I'm going to get a PM from the admins later? im confused why this topic got moved to PMDG forum hahaha.... The post was originally in the PMDG General forum but it got moved to the MS FSX forum. Also note the "Retard" callout is talking over the terrain warnings. Who's bright idea was that? With countless accents shaped by thousands of years of history, there are few English-speaking nations with as many varieties of language in such a small space."
October 2, 201213 yr British Accents "The United Kingdom is probably the most dialect-obsessed nation in the world. With countless accents shaped by thousands of years of history, there are few English-speaking nations with as many varieties of language in such a small space." Oh yes indeed but if anyone hears a Scot, a Welshman or a Northern Irishman talking I can't imagine people ever saying "He's talking British" yet a Brit he most certainly would be. Funny old world innit Bill Casey
October 2, 201213 yr Well! St Maarten ATC would not be speaking French as it is an ex Dutch colony! The TCAS verbal warnings are not correct. "Traffic-Traffic" only and then seconds later if necessary an RA is given. In other words "Traffic" is not continuously repeated. In any case what warnings were given were completely ignored by the pilot!!!!!!!!! But there was nobody on the beach??????
