Can we pilot a real 737 if we can

Well, it's up to you if you want to assume that I am sky god just from telling the story of my first flight. I told a story, you trashed it, I won't waste any more time. Today I am flying a katana out of Birrfeld, I'll enjoy the flight, but maybe I bring my gran and let her fly while I do a crossword.

Hi,

Birrfeld

Hey that's just arround the corner. You have good weather there, here at the other end of the Lake Constance the weather sucks, so probably no flying for me tomorrow :(

Hi

The weather is ok, but the flight is postponed until Sunday, it´s a really busy field, there are plenty of folks with cash here, some of the ga aircraft are pretty special.

Constance area is very nice (apart from the traffic jams). I have never flown up that way, although I did try to book a flight in an Airship there for my Dads birthday when he was over visiting me, he taught me to fly gliders in Scotland, I think Constance is quite a famous area for tourist flights in the Airships, but it was sold out and had a long waiting list.

Cheers

Iain

Could a simmer land it without loss of life and structural damage to the aircraft? Yes it's possible. However, the rate of success depends entirely on the circumstances.

Scenario 1: Your average NGX fanatic is put in a level D sim with a check and training captain = 95% chance of success.

Scenario 2: Your average NGX fanatic is put in a level D sim by himself and left to his own devices, ops normal and CAVOK = 60% chance of success.

Scenario 3: Your avarage """" is put into the left seat of the REAL THING and is the only option after pilots incapcitation, CAVOK = 10% chance of success.

Scenario 4: Your average """" sames as above, but at night with weather down to the minimus, 3% chance of success.

When you're in that left seat and you're dealing with the gravity of the situation, i,e, wow if I mess this up it's going to be the end of me and the 150 people sitting behind me, things are going to look and feel a lot different to the computer screen at home.

Here is a philisophical question to ponder: Why does an a/c have two engines?

a. To get you to the accident site quicker.

Those of you who think you are Sky Gods just remember Tenerriffe and AF447.

In case 1 engines falls off you got another one, counter the weight of the other engine on the other side, looks better with 2 engines, could go on more :0

Heck that thing is huge and it needs a lot thrust to keep it flying. imagine the amount of drag on that aircraft.

personally about the original question about flying the ngx in RL BY learning on a sim can only be answered by a RL 737 pilot. I think mod should lock this thread IMO.
