December 22, 201213 yr Fellow captain from ACH, first of all, it is a 727. The systems are not to compare to a modern aircraft such as 737NGX. And that for me is one of the special things. This particular one from FJS is really special. Superb graphics and detailed complex systems, but most of all it is such a joy to drive it. If you are into 727 you would not make mistake to get this one. Yes, 727 is older aircraft, but somebody says that FlyJSim 727 is the best aircraft ever made for any simulator. This is the reason i asked for direct comparation with Maddog and PMDG. I like 727, but I would never have bought Captain Sim for example [ I can already see rocks being thrown at me for posting this, but let me answer you anyway ] If you're an hardcore simmer - and judging from you referencing addons like Maddog or PMDG you certainly are - don't expect simulation depth (systems-wise) comparable to the best FSX addons. While FlyjSim 727 may be one of the best airliners for X-Plane at the moment (or maybe even the best), it is still lacking when compared to Maddog or PMDG. X-Plane and it's 3rd party addons are constantly evolving in the good direction, but we're not there yet. As opposed to what others may have wrote here (or will), FlyjSim doesn't have all of it's systems simulated. Period. Thank you for your honest and brave answer I think that x-plane has great potential, i'm still waiting for IXEG and PMDG to see what can be done. Zeljko Budovic
December 23, 201213 yr I've bought the plane and have flown her a couple of hours, doing circuits and testing the basics, the flight model stability, etc. This aircraft is frame rate friendly, great graphics, great 3d cockpit, functional on 64-bit x-plane, although I've not tested all the systems. I've found minor issues so far: the break (toe brake) power is too weak (I think it can be fixed by editing) and the ADF fourth digit is there, on the two receivers, but doesn't work. Bad for flying outside USA where some NDB has 4 digits, like here in Brazil.
December 23, 201213 yr I see that B727 has been nominated to FANCON 2013 http://forum.avsim.net/topic/394753-for-x-plane-10-fly-j-sims-new-boeing-727/#entry2551062 Justly deserved IMHO
December 23, 201213 yr I have the Dreamfleet 727 for fs2004. So I'm somewhat interested how this one will compare. The Dreamfleet was good, at least to my untrained eyes and ears. These days my expectations are a little more focused on the smaller system details (like the amperage loads created by each electrical consumer). A lot of buttons on the Dreamfleet were just buttons with no function. I'm hoping that buttons like "Window Heat" actually do something (at least to the electrical bus). The above engine start video however is rather informative*. Though slightly confused about the sounds. We enter what appears to be a cold and dark cockpit despite there being the sound of fresh air coming out of the ducts. Shouldn't such sounds only happen when the ECS packs are running? This emerging business model paying extra for more liveries is not something I'll be indulging in. For one thing I hardly look at liveries while flying - and so don't derive all that much value in paying for it. For another thing it stifles other peoples wish to make their own liveries - which I'd say is more a hobby indulgence than a business worth supporting. The basic package at $32 more than satisfies my curiosity in this aircraft. * Edit: Must check the heading some time - that was the Captain Sim 727 engine startup, not the flyjsim!
December 23, 201213 yr Me too. But after I tested the plane and loved it, I bought all of them. I'm weak  This emerging business model paying extra for more liveries is not something I'll be indulging in.
December 23, 201213 yr I only bought the CIVA. How come you "bought" CIVA?? That's against the licencing agreement. You'd better report that to http://www.simufly.com!! It's free and whilst it can be part of a sold package it cannot be sold alone. Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA

Simufly (freeware) for MSFS is one thing, and Philipp's (payware) for X-Plane is another. Both are simulations of the real CIVA unit. Regards, Radek

December 23, 201213 yr Can someone tell me what is he talking about? I dont think anyone can ... Jan Betlach
December 23, 201213 yr I didn't have to "pay" for it!!!!! The X-Plane CIVA to be installed for X-Plane aircraft: http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/x-planestore/Detail?no=430 Danny Hicks
December 23, 201213 yr This plane is from another world! FIIIINNNNALLLY I have a high detailed Medium Airliner with complex system! When IXEG Comes it will be good, but the 727 is so much fun to FLY du to its "old" systems! There is no VNAV-LNAV and then fall a sleep. This bird needs to be piloted all the time! The autoland is superb and the sounds make me wet in my pants!
December 23, 201213 yr Author There should be a scenery of the old rw at Madeira airport, former LPFU, now LPMA, where, in the late seventies early eighties the TAP's 727-100 and 200 operated regularly... It was quite a challenge to land and takeoff from the old rw, only 1600m long, specially under adverse weather conditions and gusting winds/shear. The 727 series were back then one of my preferred airliners (together with the by then recently acquired TAP's 747-200s). There was a 1 / 72 kit by Aurora, in the colours of Lufthansa that I bought and painfully converted to TAP's old color scheme... The kit had the fuselage in yellow plastic :-/ Good old memories ..... Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

December 23, 201213 yr jcomm, nice video! Wonder what the pollution-commite will say about the black smoke on landing! hahahah
