January 8, 201313 yr I'm beginning to think the T7 is vaporware. Haha. A good laugh you gave me with that one. If there is one fs addon maker that delivers, it's PMDG, even if it usually takes a while. But I've yet to come across a PMDG product that wasn't worth the wait. Dave P. Woycek
January 8, 201313 yr I'd buy anything PMDG makes, but the question of whether or not it would be practical would be a very different poll. Elijah HoytCFI, CFII, CMEL, CSEL, CSES, IFR
January 8, 201313 yr I can only dream of a PMDG 767, but if one is made someday, then i'll be happy. My favourite Boeing plane. January 8, 201313 yr I think its best left to PMDG to decide. :Waiting: Whatever they decide to create for us for FS in the future, we're in good hands. Chris Howard
January 9, 201313 yr Author Quite frankly, it doesn't need to be PMDG for me. I am looking for either of two things: a 757 on a par w/ PMDG-grade stuff, OR...a passenger jet plane on a par w/ PMDG-grade stuff that can keep up with the thrust:weight ratio and range of the 757. I'm not married to either, but I would marry a jet w/ those qualities and the company that cranked it out. That's good to know about QW's. Hopefully that will be good 'nuf. Obviously that's the case with most of us—we are somewhat obsessed with PMDG because of the consistently high-quality products it produces, not because of its status as a name brand. I'm sure a similarly devout following would arise if another developer (e.g., FSL) started building a similarly prodigious reputation. If PMDG ceased producing add-ons (e.g., as Level-D has) or high-quality ones, the PMDG craze would probably diminish. Above all, you have to consider that this thread is in a PMDG forum. . . .
January 9, 201313 yr Author Above all, you have to consider that this thread is in a PMDG forum. . . . Something like the 757 I don't think is in the portfolio of PMDG. I'm glad I put the post here and who knows, maybe they'll read the writing on this wall. If we started w/ the common uses of FSX users, as in flight types, ranges, etc, I'll bet in the domain of larger passenger jets you won't find a majority looking for the big iron--instead, it will be the shorter to medium range flights. Taking off and landing--you know what I mean. Throw in the excellent climb power and short takeoff of the 757, and all of a sudden you have something that will be used in most flights in this domain. As mentioned, there is a reason Air Force Two uses these babies. They're versatile! January 9, 201313 yr They currently have access to Boeing planes only, and if they wanna do an Airbus or something else, it will take a lot of effort and cost a lot of money to get a partnership. They don't need an Airbus partnership, they can get the data elsewhere and they would only need access to an Airbus plane through any airline that flies them. For example, what if the airplane loses all of its hydraulics? Can a computer control the plane and actually land it only by using engine power? I guess not (yet), people will be all alone and completely helpless in the plane. Actually not so, McDonnell Douglas had a program called PCA (propulsion controlled aircraft) where the pilots made inputs into the autopilot and the computer would make the appropriate thrust changes in the engines, an MD-11 actually made a normal landing using this software but no airline took the option due to its high cost. http://www.nasa.gov/centers/dryden/history/pastprojects/PCA/index.html Alex Jevdic KORD/KHOT/KPWKA<380 love at first flight

I was not challenging the fact that the B757 is a powerful aircraft and a worthy candidate of a future PMDG project (in fact, I would be quite happy to see a PMDG rendition); rather, I was discussing your point regarding quality over brand/developer in your other post.
January 9, 201313 yr PMDG already made a 757, quite some time ago...not many people remember. Tim B.PMDG 747-8i | MD-11 | J41 | NGX | 777-300ER LDS 767 | MJS Q400 | AS A319/320 | Activesky Next The Ultimate Global Tours : FSHostclient IP : 99.233.119.14

January 9, 201313 yr LOL so true! Since PMDG exists, hundreds, maybe thousands of requests were made, and there hasn't been a single one that has been answered or considered as their next project. So why would this one be different? One must understand that PMDG can't just do anything they want. They currently have access to Boeing planes only, and if they wanna do an Airbus or something else, it will take a lot of effort and cost a lot of money to get a partnership. We all have wishes for this and that airplane, but it's just not going to influence them because - as I said - it depends on the resources they have, so it's only them who will make the choices. I would definately buy a 757, but it's just not gonna happen because they only produce what "we see around our home airport(s)", and there's relatively too little demand for a 757. I'm sure something like an Airbus will happen sometime when PMDG becomes a bigger and extremely succesful company (and I'm sure they will!), but currently we aren't gonna get much more than a Boeing Pretty sure the large amount of t7 requests had a sayin when the decided to make it, so to say that requests dosens matter isnt entirely true. Just hinting out that, it's plausible they have a saying, to make sure there is an market.
January 9, 201313 yr I would buy the 757 it's a legend. I can't believe PMDG to not develop the plane because business is business. Like I heard from a TV show "You snooze you loose"
January 9, 201313 yr Of course I would drop money on any plane that's got that PMDG logo. Even though, I think Ryan has already stated they won't be doing a 757. Nathan Cupps, VZAB Instructor
