January 8, 201313 yr I agree with part of what you said, but I presume some sort of 'nagging' about what aircraft people want is a positive. That way they have an idea on what aircraft they can develop in the future that people will buy... True, but I'm sure there have been hundreds of suggestion threads for 757, 767, 787, etc etc. Samuel Scully
January 8, 201313 yr DShutt says in it that they are working on the 757, but their development cycle 'is painfully slow' because they work with it on an hobby basis. I'd be happy to see a 2013 LevelD 757, the only thing i dislike on the 767 is being so old looking because it works well. January 8, 201313 yr Voted Nay! because I would love to see PMDG do some of the still missing aircraft like some bizjets or regional aircraft. Boy, I'd be willing to pay quite some buck for a NGX-quality buiness jet like a Dassault Falcon or a Bombardier Global. 757 and A320 are currently tackled by other high-quality developers, and unless they prove their inability to deliver something that meets the needs of the hardcore simmer crowd, I don't see why PMDG should jump in on these. January 8, 201313 yr Quality wings did a pretty damn good job I must admit, wish they would release their 787 soon and hopefully put me out of my misery with the CS767 Joe Barton
January 8, 201313 yr Author Thanks guys I was not aware this was requested apparently several times. I do love the 757 as the versatility is beyond compare (In-My-Limited-Knowledge-Based-Opinion!). I think it's pretty sad no one has done a truly fully featured one and as is said here Level-D is tacitly hogging the (courtesy) rights to it but apparently not implementing ;o( Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. January 8, 201313 yr Commercial Member I think it's pretty sad no one has done a truly fully featured one and as is said here Level-D is tacitly hogging the (courtesy) rights to it but apparently not implementing My thoughts are very similar. As I've said before, I'm all for professional courtesy, but if my development time period had reached beyond a few years, I'd give others a green light if they were holding out because I was developing. I don't think it's a tactical move, or that Darryl doesn't have the best of intentions. As he's said in his own post: his development, while commercial, is more on a hobbyist schedule (that's my own take on what he wrote, anyway). Kyle Rodgers
January 8, 201313 yr They're not gonna do it. They've mentioned it a few times. It's related to a professional courtesy to Level-D not to try to upstage their 757 (also known as vaporware - sorry, but let's be real here...). I'm beginning to think the T7 is vaporware. January 8, 201313 yr QW has said in their forums that they are planning to spice up their 757. It was just a question of whether it would be in the form of a service pack Hd texture upgrade or redo it to the quality of the avro/146 series. They asked for opinions on it in the forum and it was split down the middle how to tackle it. But they are making it better. So that would be two potential 757s coming. Doesn't make much sense to spend development resources if their is already 2 on the table. Like suddenly we have potentially 3 airbus 320s coming. Seems wasteful in a small market. January 8, 201313 yr I'm beginning to think the T7 is vaporware. Why because you don't have it yet? Pfft. Pathetic. Richie Walsh
January 8, 201313 yr Commercial Member I'm beginning to think the T7 is vaporware. Haha...are you kidding me? Your own impatience is not an indicator of vaporware. Why because you don't have it yet? Pfft. Pathetic. Exactly...gotta love the impatient ones. Kyle Rodgers
January 8, 201313 yr I'm beginning to think the T7 is vaporware. bad comparison really.. We have multiple screens of the T7, and I have yet to see one of the LVLD 757..
January 8, 201313 yr Haha...are you kidding me? Of course, I'm kidding. But it has been a year and a half since they've launched a new product. I do have a feeling that 2013 will be a banner year for PMDG. Perhaps three new airplanes and a couple of announcements. As for the 757/767? I'd buy anything PMDG produced, as I already have. January 8, 201313 yr I have a special bank account set up for PMDG. I put a few dollars in it each month so that I have enough money on hand for anything they release. Okay, seriously...I don't have such an account but I certainly would buy anything PMDG produces. I'm not too keen on a retro prop (DC-6) but I will purchase it anyway to keep my FSX experience "fresh." I would pay a hefty chunk for a 757. It is by far my favorite jetliner. But I also know Level-D is "working on it" and I believe PMDG are not doing it for that very reason. Adam Hill
January 8, 201313 yr How can LevelD just stop after one major successful product and why do they keep mentioning on their forums that the 757 will come :Waiting:  I voted YES, PMDG is so awesome that I would buy Robert Randazzo's dog poop(if he owns a dog) put on an empty DVD
January 8, 201313 yr Yeah, c'mon guys! I know there have been hundreds of failed request threads, but surely this will be the one to overcome the odds and convince pmdg to make it! (please read with sarcasm) LOL so true! Since PMDG exists, hundreds, maybe thousands of requests were made, and there hasn't been a single one that has been answered or considered as their next project. So why would this one be different? One must understand that PMDG can't just do anything they want. They currently have access to Boeing planes only, and if they wanna do an Airbus or something else, it will take a lot of effort and cost a lot of money to get a partnership. We all have wishes for this and that airplane, but it's just not going to influence them because - as I said - it depends on the resources they have, so it's only them who will make the choices. I would definately buy a 757, but it's just not gonna happen because they only produce what "we see around our home airport(s)", and there's relatively too little demand for a 757. I'm sure something like an Airbus will happen sometime when PMDG becomes a bigger and extremely succesful company (and I'm sure they will!), but currently we aren't gonna get much more than a Boeing or McDonnell Douglas which I'm already more than happy with. How can LevelD just stop after one major successful product and why do they keep mentioning on their forums that the 757 will come :Waiting:  I voted YES, PMDG is so awesome that I would buy Robert Randazzo's dog poop(if he owns a dog) put on an empty DVD  LOL! Coincidently I just stepped in dog poo when stepping out of the bus and believe me, you don't wanna have that on your CD, it smells like ######!!! (<<< duhhh). :Big Grin: I'm sure computers might be able to fly the plane just fine. But when there's something wrong with the plane, it can't improvise, computers just cannot do that. For example, what if the airplane loses all of its hydraulics? Can a computer control the plane and actually land it only by using engine power? I guess not (yet), people will be all alone and completely helpless in the plane. Or what if there's a mechanical failure that has never happened before? Remember that a computer can't do anything it wasn't programmed for. For example, imagine if the servo valve problem on the 737-200 would happen just after fully automated airplanes would have just been introduced. Because that incident has never happened before, the computer wasn't programmed for it and it can't control the plane or improvise to control it. If planes are gonna be 100% automated, I will refuse to get onboad. Not even because I'm scared - because I put my full confidence in the technology of nowadays - but simply out of protest for the automation itself. If everything is automated in the world, there's no point of life or humanity, life will be boring because there's nothing to fulfull or to accomplish. Many technicians haven't realised this yet unfortunately, and I think we will realise this eventually, but only when it's too late already. Arjen Vandervelde
