VINTAGE AIRLINERS

Featured Replies

Hey developers,

A small list of petitions concerning your Vintage collection :

1- MD80 Series ( md80,md83,md87,md88 )

2- DC-8 and Super DC8

3- B-747 200

4- Convair Coronado

Cheers.

There are already two very good in depth simulations of the MD80. Far better PMDG concentrate on something that isn't already provided for.

A good DC-8 and 747 Classic would be nice though.

The Carenado would have limited appeal, can't see them doing that.

a good DC10 + L1011 would be awesome

The L-1011 is very intriguing, but I would prefer an MD-11 graphics refresh instead, especially since Just Flight is already developing an L-1011.

In any case, I would enjoy business jets more than vintage aircraft as alternatives to PMDG's mainstream releases.

Isn't the 400 becoming a classic now?

I mean, a few airlines have retired most of their 400 (PAX) fleet...

Possibly, but that doesn't mean that the name 747 Classic stops referring to the 747-100/200/300. It's too widely accepted.

But the thread is about vintage airliners people would like PMDG to consider. Other developers specialise in biz-jets too.

I'd love to see an L-1011 for FSX, but sadly I think Just Flight one will be a CLS "lite" version. If any airliner deserves PMDG's in depth treatment it's the Tristar.

when i think vintage...i think more in terms of the douglas dc-3 thru 7..the lockheed connie, and martin 404

Computer Specs: i5-4690K 3.5 GHz overclocked to 4.0GHz / MSI GTX 960 4GB Video Card / 16GB Kingston HyperX Fury 1866MHz DDR3 System RAM / MSI Z97-G45 Motherboard / Crucial MX200 500GB mSATA SSD

I just want the DC-6. Should of been finished and released before the 777 IMO.

Down the road, 747-200 for sure.

Who is making a DC-6?

Agreed.

I'd love to have a TriStar. I got to fly on one right before it went into retirement (ATL-FLL on DAL). I also got a chance to fly on a UAL 742 right before it got retired on an IAD-MIA trip.

...and everyone says big planes always need long routes.

In reality, it was spring holiday for most of the schools and colleges, which means high density flights to Florida, thus the large planes on the short routes.

Random story over: I'd love to have a TriStar. A 742 wouldn't be half bad, either.

Why not the MD90-30? That's an airliner i'd love to see properly simulated

Kind regards

There is no DC8 - to my knowledge - simulated for FS (other than the HJG freeware), while all Boeing have been done in many versions... Why is that plane systematically forgotten from project lists when it was one of the best airliners ever made competing with the 707? I vote for it to be a vintage candidate!!!

DC7b, Boeing 314 Clipper, Boeing 717
