AVSIM is becoming more entertaining than truTV. How do you find time to golf Tom?

Good riddance I say, even if "she" wasn't a fake. Of the 70 or so posts "she" made here I think she mentioned "I use FSX as a training aid for my PPL studies" in at least 69 of them. Frankly it was getting a bit tiring.

Just demonstrates that you can't afford to take anything for granted these days. I was quite taken in by the 'intro' - then subsequently very surprised by some of the comments in the locked hardware thread, given that she/he had only been around for a matter of days.

And they wonder why some of us doubt these "women" are really female. I hate to say that any one who appears out of the blue claiming to be a woman and then posts like crazy is really female, just seems out of character for a flight sim forum, not to say that it couldn't happen, just seems highly unlikely.

 

I still have doubts that Summer1 who just recently got a 30 day ban is really a girl, especially a from the youngish photo she uses as an avitar.

 

A while back there was this other "lady" that popped up at or around the same time the PMDG NGX came out and she used the handle NGX. She had a similar posting style to Helen, used a avatar of some female actress, and posted like crazy in the PMDG forum and the hardware forum. Maybe the same guy? Hard to say but after racking up like 1500 posts in a few months time "she" seems to have vanished.

 

Its too bad that when a supposed female pops up in a predominately male forum they usually end up being men posing as women.

I generally agree, but let's not begin making assumptions because of this case. Tom supported his findings with strong evidence. However, making assumptions about others based on their profile images alone seems slightly paranoid and unnecessary. In general, we must be careful of letting possibly unrelated events negatively influence how we view other potentially innocent individuals.

I dont assume all the females that post here are not really females. The ones I believe are real dont usually post pics of themselves as avatars that could be considered more attractive than usual, dont post 50 times a day, and dont get into confrontations like guys do.

 

We're free to believe what we want, but some of them I have a bad feeling about from the start.

I have edited my previous post to be less specific to Summer1, since I can see what you mean about certain questionable attributes and behaviors. Hopefully the post is now more neutral.

The tough work our moderators do is the reason why I feel comfortable enough to share the details I share about myself in this community. I think that many others feel the same.

 

This is really sad to see. I feel like a wall of shame would be a neat addition. Unfortunately, not everyone has an avatar picture for their mugshot.
