February 16, 201313 yr Author For now the system will switch to the australian FO voice for the emergency procedures. Please be aware that it is very time consuming to add additional voice sets for the emergency procedures. But I think Bryan will think about adding some new voice sets in the future. February 16, 201313 yr Ian If you heard the content of the Emergency NGX voice package I'm sure you will understand why its currently only one voice. Glen Glen
February 16, 201313 yr Thanks I have bought all the FS2Crew products in the past, but i am unsure about this one. I don't want to break the immersion by switching (even automatically) from one to another. Ian R Tyldesley
February 16, 201313 yr I used to fly for a fairly major UK airline in the RW, and we had quite a few Australian and New Zealand pilots. In my opinion the AU pilot sounds more realistic in his approach to checklist handling than the UK pilot - I now just stick with the AU pilot because I fly the NGX with 'Service Based Failures' active and if anything fails based on this option the AU pilot will pick it up just as in the RW - this product is so realistic, I am one of the Beta testers and it adds a whole new aspect to flying the NGX. If you like realism, buy it you won't regret it, Bryan and the RW NG pilots on his team have done a brilliant job with this software. Glen Glen
February 16, 201313 yr looking forward to this when I get back from overseas. I think the voice choice is worth it alone ZORAN
February 16, 201313 yr Commercial Member Thanks I have bought all the FS2Crew products in the past, but i am unsure about this one. I don't want to break the immersion by switching (even automatically) from one to another. There's no switching as that would sound really bizarre. Basically there's is a new on/off button on the FS2Crew Main Panel panel called Failures. When you enable Failures, the voice set auto switches to Australian. So don't worry, it's not like you'll be doing your Manchester to London route and you get a Master Caution, and then some crazy Australian will barge into the cockpit and announce: "G'Day, I'm Bruce, I see you've got a Master Caution - Electrical". It doesn't go like that B) Most of our users aren't interested in failures, although failures are really fun and new to fly. Most users will just be interested in the new First Officers, like two new female FO's. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
February 17, 201313 yr Hah! It's mine!!! Now, let's see... how many fires I can have in one night of flying? Edited to add - I don't care about the voices, I want the QRF activities!!! Yes! Been waiting for this since announcement of the then-potential product. I bet then when I look at the cockpit from outside, I bet that the FO is still a guy! Hoping to be surprised.

February 17, 201313 yr some crazy Australian will barge into the cockpit and announce: "G'Day, I'm Bruce, I see you've got a Master Caution - Electrical". Lol. I kinda pictured an Aussie John Cleese figure knocking on the door there. Will be buying it today, Bryan. Bring on those engine fires! ^_^ Daniel Nilsson
February 17, 201313 yr I like the concept of simulating failures with FO assistance. The engine fire failure was so realistic in the video trailer! I was wondering if the Emergency pack gives you those fire animations as well or is it just limited to running the appropriate QRH checklist procedures? February 17, 201313 yr You will get the NGX 2.0 in approx 30 days from now. This is the version with all the new features (new voice sets etc.) but without the emergency stuff. If you bought it via Fs2Crew Check your completed orders on the Fs2Crew website then. It will be a free update. To get that clear, as a FS2Crew "basic"owner, i will get NGX 2.0 INCLUDING the new sound sets but without the emergency procedures for FREE? i thought NGX 2.0 was only some minor items like bug fixes and some small extras? That would contradict what is written in the description of the emergency-package: "Note that even if failures don't interest you, you'll probably still like the New First Officer Voice Sets that are only available to Emergency NGX! owners." I would be interested in the sound sets, but not the Emergency procedures, maybe this could be made available for some small extra fee? February 17, 201313 yr Ok Bryan I asked this before awhile ago but I will ask again just to make sure, I don't like setting up my flight for a failure, but I do use the random based failures feature of the ngx, that way I don't know when or if I will get a failure, so does this product work with that?
February 17, 201313 yr There is a new button on the FS2Crew Main Panel that says 'Fail', if this is selected it will automatically change the Copilot voice to Australian, which is the only voice programmed to work the Emergency NGX checklists. The FO will then look for any warning light that appears on the panel between the BEFORE T/O phase and landing mode CLEAN UP. If the warning is one of the Emergency NGX programmed failures the FO will announce the failure. The reason its after the Before T/O phase is during the departure preparation there are lots of warning lights illuminated on the flight deck. So to answer your question, Yes you can use random based failures, it doesn't need to be a pre-programmed failure. Glen Glen
February 18, 201313 yr I would also like to know if the fire animation that is seen in the video is part of this product, or was that edited in post for effect? Looks cool though, nice addition. Will go grab a copy soon Elliot Westacott
