March 2, 201313 yr Anyone remember the 727 with stairs at the back, now that was an idea! The DC-9 and BAC 1-11 had them too. The Fokker 100/70 had an optional hinged forward door with integral stairs. The use of folding airstairs under a normal door made the weight and complexity of aft airstairs obsolete.

March 3, 201313 yr Sorry, the stairs link here is a little tenuous bit I couldn't help myself... Their was a huge storm and delays were plentiful. Because of this the 777 was not at the gate but parked at some random place in the airport, so we had to take a bus. It was Slartibartfasting it down. I refused the clear plastic rain mac the bus stewardess was giving out. It was novel to have to climb the air stairs as the view was great. I never noticed the rain maybe because the stairs were also covered in a plastic rain shield. This was last year at VHHH so stairs are still a useful addition. Shame that GSX doesn't have plastic rain macs on their stairs when it's raining but I digress
March 3, 201313 yr In my video at , you can see some of the GSX features (mainly the pushback truck etc, I was using a boarding jetbridge) early on in the video. It's PMDG 737, but shows some of the use of GSX. I had rear boarding stairs attached to the 737 too, but didn't get many good shots of it apart from the opening. Oh yeah and guys putting bags into the hold with conveyor belts in the opening shot too The guy with paddles helping you park the jet at the end of the video is also from GSX. March 4, 201313 yr Of you can ask them to jump.. Funny story: I had a dream last night that to board a B744, I had to jump in the flaps then the aileron to get on the wing and board through the door on the wing. I got up there and the aileron kept moving up and down making it harder - makes boarding a little more interesting right? RyanAir's new boarding policy? Jarrad Symes Perph, Western Australia
March 4, 201313 yr RyanAir's new boarding policy? Don't be surprised if that comes into affect soon  - Luke Pabari

March 4, 201313 yr I assume they didn't care about gas prices and weight in 1963. Was than when it was .25 a gallon? Cheaper than water? Yep, that was the 60s... I am surprised RyanAir hasn't asked to duct tape passengers to the wings, but charge double for an un-obstructed views of your final destination. Jhan M. You don't want to give Michael O'Leary ideas like that. He could market it as extra legroom seats!
