A little bit hyperbolic no? Well if you are going out of your way to find ways to break the pathfinding then what can anyone say? Plenty of other games out there with far worse pathfinding AI than this.

Nick

Give it a week or two someone will have hacked it to be able to play offline

I hope your not encouraging people into piracy?

I hope your not encouraging people into piracy?

Not at all I buy all my stuff but its not piracy to modify the game to use it offline

Sorry, I just misunderstood you then...

I'm a really big fan of the SimCity franchise, and I feel really mad (polite word) at what EA have done to the franchise.

Firstly, I haven't actually bought the game after reading reviews and watching videos, but as far as I can see they've destroyed what was once a great franchise.

1) DRM, of course everyone hates this. I want to be able to play this game when I don't have Internet available. e.g. On a long-haul flight

2) Tiny map-size. Seriously, it should be called SimVillage.

3) Downloadable Content. We can already see EA are going to milk players dry of their money. You want a bigger map or mods, be prepared to pay for them (even though you spend $80 on the full game).

4) I don't want to play in a region with other people. I like playing offline in my own world. This is just an excuse for EA to push adverts continually and "Post to Facebook" comments.

5) It looks like we can't save the cities to our computers, and it is stored on the cloud. No longer can you roll back, cause disasters etc.

It makes me angry, ##### were they thinking doing this and releasing it. Greedy #!@#%^!@&^#%!@ :-)

If you are after a decent City Simulator try, Cities XL 2012. It has its problems, and will start to run pretty badly after you get about 100,000 citizens. But the city size is much bigger than SimCity 5, and the graphics look far nicer.

I just hope people on the fence don't just read the reviews and go off that. People who want to see something negative in a game will and will be blinded to all the good. To each is own.

I for one read a huge amount of reviews on AC 3 and still bought it. I am happy I did as I liked the fact that they made it a little different and just not the same exact game but a different map and name.

Try it yourself. Just saying.

I have owned every Sim City game since the original (on Amiga), even the awful 'Sim City Societies'; I was looking forward to this and the new Command and Conquer game.

Then i learnt about the "pay to play" model and the always on DRM i hate playing on line so...no thanks!

As suggested above try Cities XL, it's actually not bad.

Has anyone noticed to decrease in the quality of PC software over the past few years like fsx, cliffs of Dover, simcity 5 gta iv,ect. Personally I think its consoles fault

One thing I've noticed on the various fora I've read is most of the people complaining don't have the game. Those that do are saying it's actually quite fun.

Make of that what you will.

While i agree with you on the general quality decrease i think you have the wrong reason.  It seems that with the Internet and patches most companies now have a release and patch philosophy, even on Console.  Even AAA titles on PS3 and 360 are requiring day 1 patches.

Generally speaking their really isn't much innovation from the big publishers these days with DRM and paid DLC i think that things are looking pretty bleak.

Give me a demo, and I will try it. Oh wait, there is no demo...

Ya. It's called go out and buy it. You are in one of the most demanding and expensive hobbies an throw money away all the time on it, and you are willing to bash a product before you have even used it.

There seems to be a reason for anything nowadays for people to get all up in arms about stuff they have yet to try or have.

I TELL YOU WHAT. FERRARIS ARE THR BIGGEST PIECE OF CRAP!! THESE CAR MAKERS MAKE NO ROOM IN THEM FOR PEOPLE 6'4!!! THEY ARE SO NOT FUN TO DRIVE even though I don't have one or have never even sat in one.

If there was a demo sure but $80 for a game with very poor reviews? No thanks.
