A New Website

Featured Replies

Hello All!

I realize that all of you probably have better things to do, but seeing as I have to put pictures when posting in the screenshot forum, I thought I would post this here. I have made a new website with, as of yet, 28 of my edited FS pictures, some of which are on AVSIM, some not. If you want, drop by and take a look at it. If you don't like the pictures, don't like the editing, feel free to say so. Obviously nothing derogatory or offensive, but I really hope you enjoy these pictures. Quite a few cases of "Right place; right time". The link is below, so enjoy!

Don't take this the wrong way mate but, arnt these all screenshots?

Not really appropriate to call it FSXPhotography...

Still awesome though, really nice, and I do like the fact that you have provided proper details on aircraft and scenery too, which so many don't, and again, some cracking screenshots, so well done for that :-)

What screen resolution you flying at when taking them?

Calling it FSXPhotography sound a helluva better than FSXScreenshots.

Keep it the way it is. It grabs peoples attention more (See above) and thats what you need when trying to create a site like you have done.

Best of luck

Sounds great, but it isnt photography... Its just plane misleading...

Nice photos..and I like the name also. We simulate flying planes and you are simulating taking photos.

Its just plane misleading...

Bad pun alert!!! Bad pun alert!! No soup for you. LOL

Good looking site dude. Thanks

With the rise of games (and modifications to those games) in the last few years with seriously amazing graphics, there has been a rise of interest in gamers doing' in-game photography'.

So yea, basically carefully screenshots with post-processing applied, but some people have taken it to a new art form.  As a photographer myself, I cringe a bit at the association, but some of the same rules (such as composition, for example) apply.

And to be honest, there have been a few posts in the screenshot forum lately that I'd be more than happy to print and put on the wall...

Nice work!  No problem with the name either, as none of the planes mislead me at all.

Absolutely... Nobody is questioning the quality... But maybe FSXArt might be more realistic.. Awesome screenshots, + Post Processing..

No camera + Not a real life situation = Not a photograph, so why try to sell it as photography...

Does it really matter?

Nice photos mate! Keep them coming!

Does it really matter?

This is exactly why companies will keep selling "Unlimited this and that" with smallprint that says your getting the exact opposite...

Go to a gallery viewing that claimed "Photography Gallery" to see great pictures that were not photographs, would you say the same thing?

Search Google for something, and end up getting something different, does it matter? Neither cost you any money, but both didnt provide what you were expecting...

Whilst it might not be a big deal, its misleading all the same.

OMG who cares what he calls it! Why do people always feel they have the obligation to tell people what they need to do. He didn't come here looking for a website consultant.

I personally like the name "fsxphotography", but I tried 3 domain names before this (fsphoto, fsxphoto and fsphotography) all of which were taken, however only one of three being FS related (some nice shots on fsxphoto.blogspot.com). Thank you all for the comments. I really like editing screenshots. I have tried scenery. Design, livery making and video making (DMac10121 on YouTube), none of which are as easy, quick and enjoyable as screenshot editing. Nothing fancy here, just freeware Paint.NET and the default FS screen capture. I will continue to make edited pictures in the future. Before these pctures I had quite a few older ones, which I have posted on my YouTube channel. I'll probably post those to the website eventually as well. The video is called, as far as I can remember, "Screenshots in FSX (Set 1)" but I couls be wrong. In response to the screen resolution, I can't quite remember, however I do know it is the bottom one in the options in the FSX settings (but in basically all of my shots I have cropped the picture to some extent, whether artistically or to simply remove the menu bar or other display as such. Thank you all for the positive comments and I'm very glad you enjoy them!
