September 19, 200421 yr On August 24th I posted this"I read the PAI thread when it came out about the FS9 patch. It was posted by a former PAI Editor and Chief, and he definitly goofed by posting, in violation of the NDA. The thread was deleted after a few hours by Frank Cubilos (spelling), who is a stand up person and mucho important PAI guy. The thread didn't say much, other than they were beta testing a patch for FS9. Based upon the comments in the thread, I don't think there is any doubt that a patch is in the works. It makes absolutely no sense that it was a hoax.It will be interesting to see what it addresses."To which JSkorna replied with this smart #### comment...."I've got this sweet looking bridge that crosses over the most beautiful land that you will ever see. And every time it rains, there is a rainbow with a pot of gold at the end that ends in the middle of the land. Don't worry though, Santa will deliver the gold to your door while you are watching the Easter bunny, waiting for dark so that the Tooth Fairy will stop by after the Sandman does."Well Mr JSkorna, I guess you will have 160 bridges for Santa to deliver the goods!
September 19, 200421 yr My sincere thanks to MS Flightsim team! The stability improvements are very welcome :).Tero:-sun1 PPL(A)
September 19, 200421 yr great, i hope this means i will be able to complete a A340 flight in one go :)
September 19, 200421 yr Good news about the patch.I was wondering why they have decided not to go the whole hog and update the mesh resolution to 9.6m. Also it would have been nice if they had included a switch on for vertical textures - something I've seen talked about it a couple of posts. But, hey, you can't have everything!:-)
September 19, 200421 yr YeahThere have been so many posts about the whether FS9 would be patched - they finally did it!Nice one MS. Its good to know that they listen. Looking forward to it alreadyCheersLungs
September 19, 200421 yr Fail to understand whats so exciting about it. Most of those issues which will be addressed by MS has already been addressed by the community, Yet, they put their mistakes as "bonus update" for their customers. Whats the big bonus about getting right bridges and plugging memory leaks??
September 19, 200421 yr Would I be pushing my luck if I hoped that Microsoft's FS2004 patch, patched Wilco's 767Pic.. :-) Probably....Any ways, Thank you Microsoft for an outstanding piece of software...Flight simulator FS2004, FS2002, FS2000, FS98, FS95. You've given me many hours of pleasure enjoying this addictive hobby..Thanks again... :-smooch
September 19, 200421 yr "Fail to understand whats so exciting about it."For one thing, the work around for the autogen memory leak was to simply switch off the extra autogen; a pity since it adds extra variety. Other workarounds involve installing alternative textures for seasonal changes, not all users may feel at ease doing this or they may not know where to get them. For another, not all FS2004 users will be aware of the existence of the 'community' and the workarounds.Apart from the intrinsic benefits, it demonstrates that MS have not abandoned the product as was rumored by some.Best,Martijn
September 19, 200421 yr Oh yeah! I've had trouble sleeping of late (FS2004 is one of the reasons I have to admit) and.... well, those sheep from the Serta commercial showed up at my bedroom window. I think they're pretty cute but too noisy (kept going "beeeehhhh" and complaining I didn't want them, you know how it is!).*** However: I have some news I'll be posting regarding a HARDWARE ISSUE CONFIRMED BY KINGSTON TECHNOLOGY REGARDING ASUS A7N8XE-DELUXE motherboard and/or the NVIDIA NFORCE 2 ULTRA 400 chipset and use of more than one memory module and of using 400 MHz. memory causing system lockups (blank blue or black screens) in FS and in other games.I need to confirm the details definitely before I post so I don't post incorrect info."Watch AVSIM for the continuing stoooorrry!" September 19, 200421 yr Only as far as the FS2000 patch (remember that?) meant that there was no FS2002. C'mon people, remember history?
