April 5, 201313 yr I missed her :-) really!!! It's indeed a great add-on, beautifully designed in all aspects, a charm to hand-fly and even being complex it still offers a very acceptable ride on my simulator :-) Support service from PMDG was also 5 stars!!! April 5, 201313 yr I second all of the above and still fly Her. And a man of my age (51) She was definitely part of my era. I can't wait for V-2. Thanks, Ron Thanks, Ron Fields

April 5, 201313 yr Will there be a V2? I wasn't aware of it ...Yes there will be a v2 in some point and time. I forget if they already started working on it or not, but it is coming.I just got the 747 from them and I absolutely love it!Remy Mermelstein777-300 FS Pilot Quote "The Skies the limit" Remy Mermelstein 777-300 FS Pilot, Deltava P3Dv4.1, ASP4, UTLive, ReShade + URP + PTA, All settings max'd, i7 Core Extreme @ 5.2gHz, GTX 1080, CyberpowerPC Gaming Laptop, 500GB SSDx2, 32GB DDR4 RAM.
April 6, 201313 yr Will there be a V2? I wasn't aware of it ... As Remy said, it's well into development. Last we heard in January she was near enough half way complete. Rob did say in that interview they expect development time on that to be shorter than the 777. You can see the interview here: I hope for people awaiting the V2 that it doesn't get a little held up like the 777 did. I have a feeling they'll show the V2 off at one of these conferences in May I think it is, like they did with the 777 last year in Munich. Hopefully the 777 will be out by then, if not then no doubts it'll be centre of attention - not that she wouldn't be anyway (-; - Luke Pabari
April 6, 201313 yr I'm really looking forward to some comparison shots between the v1 & v2 when the time comes. Chris Sunseri
April 6, 201313 yr I believe that the V2 wont take as long because they already have the V1. From my understanding the V2 will be incorporating the NGX technologies and looks, but will still retain much of the same stuff as the v1. it will basically be a re-done touched up and cleaned version of the v1. I dont think they are starting from scratch like with the 777. April 6, 201313 yr I heard that V2 will be made from scratch, just like the NGX. Hopefully it'll take much less time to be released. Thanks, Kevin L

I dont think they are starting from scratch like with the 777. And you're wrong right there. v1 and v2 have nothing in common at all. The 747 v2 is taking all the technology from the NGX and the 777. PMDG has said several times that it won't just be a "retouched" product. It's gonna be brand new. Nothing from the old version is going to be reused in the new one. One thing you have to understand is that PMDG created the new base code for their upcoming products when they developed the NGX. All the products ahead of it are being developed upon it's technology. The NGX took so long because they were starting from scratch, literally, but now that the base is ready, newer products should take less time to be released. The 777, for example, has been in development for about a year and a half, I believe, and it's already on final production stages. Matheus Mafra

April 6, 201313 yr They are doing this from the ground up but lets face it, this bird is 50 years old. One of the reasons the T7 took so long is due to the technology and redundant systems that were modeled. (I know there is some Quotes on this somewhere.) What if they did a KC-135. It has new engines and a new flight deck but it is still basically a 707. The base design of the Queen (Flight controls, Fuel delivery, Pressurization, Hydraulics etc.) are still the same. They have made many modifications to the airframe around it over the years. This makes it easier and less time consuming for the PMDG team. (Ryan: if I am off base please feel free to correct me.)
