November 17, 201312 yr Does anyone have performance tables for the JT-8Ds (-17s preferred)? I've got a 727 POH here but did not have the time to check it yet. (Are these kinds of things actually contained in those?) And extrapolating engine behaviour from the little data available on the net kind of sucks. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
November 18, 201312 yr As much as I would love to see a PMDG 727, I trust them when they say there is no business case for it. Personally, I would love to see them do a 757/767 series once their other announced planes are out in the wild. I know Level-D is supposedly working on a 757, but who knows when it will be available. With their Boeing connections, a PMDG 757/767 series would absolutely be the bee's knees.
November 18, 201312 yr A 727 would be beautiful, but could you imagine the support forums though? LOL. "where's the xxxxx button?" "I have to actually fly and navigate at the same time?" "Where's the FMS?" "Navigate?" No offense to anyone, but flying this kind of airplane is like black magic to a good majority of today's simmers. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024

And an absolute nightmare if you model it to its fullest extent. Remember you're alone in front of a PC and not in a cockpit with two other brains and pairs of eyes and hands. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

And they're here too http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/previews/727/Downloads/GA727%20AOM.zip if you'd prefer a pdf. However, unless you have an accurate 727, performance tables may be a little frustrating. Cheers Paul Golding

Well, I want to improve the engine behaviour of Tom's 727, and EPR tables for pilots are not really what I'm looking for. I'm more interested in N1/N2/EGT, etc...charts. Thanks anyway, Paul! 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
November 20, 201312 yr Commercial Member The problem with manuals is that they contain the stuff that's needed, and the 727 is flown by EPR. However, if you look, you will find N1 tables too, both in the real manual and the link to my 727 pdf above..... Cheers Paul Golding
November 20, 201312 yr the wood pigeon should be next ..... Image removed as image is no longer available.
November 20, 201312 yr And an absolute nightmare if you model it to its fullest extent. Remember you're alone in front of a PC and not in a cockpit with two other brains and pairs of eyes and hands. You sure got that right! Navigating was a full time job, for a navigator. It's interesting to read flight reports from the 1930's all the way up to the early 90's, which preceeded GPS. With today's moving map GPS, it's just a quick glance to know exactly where you are, and what the terrain looks like for hundreds of miles in all directions. Of course, that does away with the navigators job. GPS is just a matter of a few feet, unlike prior navigation, in which the crew often didn't know exactly where they were. They had to capture radio signals, when available, let alone radio and recieving problems that could put the plane far off course, when dealing with IMC, darkness, winds, and flying a general heading. It's a much safer world these days, navigation wise. A real interest of mine, that has spanned about four decades now, has to do with navigation, and flight into terrain accidents.

I don't know what the end result in FSX will be, but the curves at least look better in AAM than they did before. Thanks again nonetheless. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
July 11, 201411 yr I'd most definately buy a PMDG 727! If it would be suitable for use with a home cockpit that is. I'm stuck with fs9 and the DF 727 for the forseeable future. A new DF would be great, but it's been quiet for a long time now so I'm not holding my breath!
July 11, 201411 yr Would love to see PMDG do a 787. The CS 727 isn't too bad and 8 can't see them doing another one.
July 11, 201411 yr I actually would love if if we did a 727 - unfortunately though, I don't think it would sell well enough to justify the development time at this point - they're only in use with cargo airlines and we've been down this road before with the MD-11. Would yal consider doing a kick starter style thing for it and some other classics like a DC-10 I'd be willing to pay $150 for a PMDG quality DC-10 as I know you margins would be a lot lower on it. If you did a kickstarter you could get the revenue for development before hand and have a commitment to a certain number of orders. ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
