Majestic Dash 8 Q400 - Release Thread

Featured Replies

Has anyone completed a glitch free flight by the book yet?

At least 12.

It's a complex simulation of a complex aicraft, that uses complex functions to achieve things like realistic throttle / disc / reverse utilization....... there are a couple of bugs.  But there are also dozens of examples of people who aren't following the info in the docs, or are assuming things and when it's not working for them, screaming bug.

With a simulation that is using so much data and reference outside of FSX, and with complex throttle setups, then getting things configures correctly is critical.   Eg... the wrong values in the Control Panel for your throttles are going to cause a lot of frustration, but if people are patient and set things up step by step, it's almost perfect out of the box.

I know it annoys people to say it, but truly, from about 16 hours of flying time and 12 rotations, the only real bugs I've come across so far, are the sound bug (when ATC is used), and the bouncing on the ground when Opus or EZCA is bein used for DHM effects.

Everything else can be fine tuned and/or resolved.

For the real time changes you make in the Control Panel (with FSX running), it doesn't freeze for me, it pauses ... but even if it does freeze for some (which I'm not disputing), just reload the aircraft : you'd need to do this anyway to 'see' the changes you've made in the Control Panel.     (The CP states this).

Which reminds me, Popeye must have been a helicopter pilot, with his right arm 3x the size of his left; I've been enjoying practicing hover-taxiing and flying choppers recently, and my right arm's about to fall off, as there isn't the equivalent of the kind of trim you get on an airplane for straight and level cruise in a helicopter. :)

Hahaha it's why I often wonder how these helicopter pilots manage when flying R44s from Antigua direct to Trinidad on a weekly basis (EET 4.5 hours!)

I wonder that too.. given that the R44 would be about 1,5 hours short of fuel.  :P

But back to our regular programming.

Despite probably being hugely swamped with lots to do, Oleksiy has been very helpful today. I am hopeful my particular Win8/sound issue will be figured out if it can be. This sim is just too spectacular to miss.

I will quietly await any further revelations on that front, and continue investigating.

The sound disappears as soon as I send the data from control panel to FSX. Is this a bug or do I sonething wrong?

Cheers Tom

I have a few questions ...

I see that TrackIR (with EZCA) operate is so strange ... not as normal with NGX for example

I setup in FSUIPC an axis of my G940 to the Spoilers axis, and in Majestic Control Panel it run as the tiller, but in-game no.

It does explain the unannounced 'diversions' and 'reappearances' they often do :-D

That is strange not only the sound is dead, the whole plane simulation does not work anymore, no switch, no button, no lever. That all after I did send the configuration to FFSX.

Cheers Tom

The Control Panel pauses FSX when new data is sent to the sim; have you tried the "P" key??

I don't believe it - you are right. Thnx Rudi!

Has anyone noticed the lack of turbulence effects when using accufeel? I dont get anything with the q400 :( kind of miss them

This thing doesnt seem to want to play very well with anything outside of itself. That's kind of a BAD deal!
