April 23, 201313 yr Does anyone know if the Majestic Dash 8 is supposed to have FO callouts like "V1, VR", "Condition Levers xxxx", "Takeoff Power Set", etc. ? It seems strange to me that there are lots of FA scripts but no FO scripts. Mark CYYZ
April 23, 201313 yr Where does a person send a request for activation support. I just purchased the Q400 from simmarket but I get a notice "No order found" when I come to install? I've noticed others with similar posts but I haven't seen what the solution is? Are there still activation server issues today? Regards, Norm.
April 23, 201313 yr Has the lack of elevator authority on flare been discussed? It truly feels awesome on approach until the flare. I have everything calibrated as per the manual. What I have noticed is that the elevator authority appears to be directly linked to the trim position. In a trimmed approach speed, full deflection of the stick does not give me full elevator deflection. Hard to explain but play with the trim position and watch the elevator position on the PFD display. Then at various trim positions, try full deflection of the yoke and look at the position of the elevator. Im sure I am doing something wrong, I just need to know what!!! Very impressed so far though. Just a few niggles which i am sure will get worked out! Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD

We have been able to get the authority working fairly well. Pilot tested and approved, be sure to check your sensitivity settings in the control panel. I will ruin another test in the morning and see if there is anything out of the norm. thanks for the heads up. Where does a person send a request for activation support. We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope to get you up and running as soon as possible. It seems strange to me that there are lots of FA scripts but no FO scripts. Mark, We have not implemented V speed call outs, but will probably have additional scripting for the PRO version. We included these scripts to schow that they are possible and will be possible for users to create their own scripts a need be (at least this our intention) KROSWYND a.k.a KILO_WHISKEYMajestic Software Development/Support Sys 1: AMD 7950X3D, NOCTUA D15S, Gigabyte Elite B650, MSI 4090, 64Gb Ram, Corsair 850 Power Supply, 2x2TB M.2 Samsung 980s, 1x4TB WDD M.2, 6xNoctua 120mm case fans, LG C2 55" OLED running at 120Hz for the monitor, Win11. April 23, 201313 yr Does anyone know if it's possible to set up weight/balance and fuel without having to switch out of FSX or run it in a window? It's a testament to the optimization of this plane that so far I've been able to alt-enter to window and back to run the config manager without crashing FSX (something I would never dream of doing with the NGX), but I'm sure sooner or later it'll be an issue. In other words, does anyone know if that weight/fuel info saved in any way such that I can load up FSX and start a flight in full screen and not have to leave it?

April 23, 201313 yr Just in case this was missed, I'd like to see a new feature in the weight and balance section of the load manager to include a "empty" "full" and "random" selection, instead of having us try and figure out the best weight and balance manually.

April 23, 201313 yr Well I got Cabin Alt warnings again on my return leg, and I found out it's because I set my landing alt before takeoff from EGLC to 1100 feet, the elevation of ELLX. In my climb if I roll back the landing alt to 0, the warning message goes away. Why is this?
April 23, 201313 yr Re: Elevator authority. If you read up a lot, on the Q400, look at YouTube videos, other discussion forums, etc, many real world pilots will talk of how the Q400 needs to be flown quite differently to most aircraft, on approach and flare; Speed is everything but also, with the Q400 you really need to fly it onto the runway. Check out the Just Planes FlyBe DVD (I think there may be a clip on YouTube), and watch Stan Woods (RW FlyBE Dash Training Capitan) doing his landings..... unlike what you may be used to, where you are retarding power anywhere between 100' (eg... CRJ), and 20' (eg... A320), in the Q400, you will be retarding anywhere between 5' and 0' (in otherwords after main wheel contact). If you retard power in the Q400 at, say, 50' no amount of elevator movement will avoid a heck of a thump of a landing! Fly it all the way to the runway; with as many 'on the nose' movements as pulling back; it's not an aircraft that needs a flare as such; more like leveling out; making contact, then retarding. Or you can retard at 5' as long as your approach has been smooth and certain and you're not ballooning at 5', in which case, you'll still have a hard landing. At low speeds, the Q400 is no glider! Those huge propellers have a massive drag effect, especially at low speeds, and especially when un-feathered (which they will be for landing). The excellent Q400 for X-Plane (by FlyJSim) also models this very realistically, and similarly when it was first released everyone wasn't happy about their landing performances, and questioned the FDE  I'm not a real world Q400 pilot, but have loved and researched this aircraft for about as long as Majestic have been! .. I also flew rw FlyBE Q400 from EGBB to Guernsey twice per week, for 6 years, and when in the real aircraft, there is no mistaking that you can hear the power staying on, until main wheel contact. Watch this from 02:15 :- Cheers.
