I think I will do a few short flights between CYVR to CYYC just to get used to it. Then stretch it out a bit from CYVR to CYYZ. I tend to keep my flights short. I fly it to T/C then hit 4x time rate until 30nm of T/D and fly the decent and approach.

KATL-KJFK or KDTW if Shez and Ian get it out before then.

Testing my speedbird around EGLL and then EGLL-EFHk to take it to my homeground to Finland for some hours of training. Some training flights between EFHK and EFKT, often used by Finnair as a training flight for heavy aircraft. After that back to hub EGLL.  B)

From reading the archive.com piece on the latest AA 777-ER deliver flight, I learned that is is typical for test flights to go from KPAE to KMHW and back.  Maybe I'll do that one first.

When or if I get the extra cash for the bird, I'll be doing a bunch of test flights at KPAE to get a good feel for her (about 10 test flights, touch and go's, lots of hand flying, and IFR conditions). Then from there maybe a good ol trip down to TNCM! :)

You're right - Boeing uses KMWH pretty mzch every day for test flights - it has a woderful 13,500ft runway and a huge flat area around it for many, many touch and goes or any other test runs - space even for screwing up big time - something that most of us will do during our first hours in the 777X

BtW: KMWH is included and much enhanced in FTX, so get it!

My test flight will be pretty short. Memphis-Dubai in a FedEx freighter.

What would a typical long haul flight be then? Earth to the Moon?

Anytime I receive a new plane, I normally try a short flight to try out all phases of flight quickly... like HNL/OGG or something like that. ;)
