Can anyone confirm what happens if you have this scenery installed and run FSX in DX10 i.e will it not load/display at all or will it throw up crashes etc?

Cheers

It runs good but it has issues with night textures and lights.

I love flying around the Greek islands and fly from other Aerosoft airports such as Corfu, KOS, Santorini, Heraklion and Fly Tampa's Athens.

Thanks time to get the credit card out . An purchase some European Scenery :D . To be honest this is my first time flying around European Scenery . So am going to look at some reviews before purchasing any scenery. Fly Tampa is great i love every scenery they have.

As Rockliffe said, all of the other Aerosoft Greek Island sceneries are perfect (but some are a big hop; the Aegean Sea is quite large)..... there are also some other good Greek Island sceneries (eg. Rhodes) that are non-Aerosoft, over at Simmarket.

FlyTampa Athens is divine, so always good flying form there, to any of the Greek Islands.

Also FlyTampa Vienna > Skiathos would be about 1hr 30 to 1hr 45 I believe.

Hope FPS aren't a problem .  I will make few connection flights around scenery that i will be purchasing today .  Thanks for the info i am taking notes right now .

I just installed it and I really like it. I think those guys are the best, right up there with ORBX, the level of detail is simply awesome.

I only had the time for a few touch and go's in the Islander, but so I had the chance to took at the scenery a bit closer, and i discovered they even modeled the wires of the electrical powerline on the left of RWY02. And it's all so smooth - I was getting 30 FPS, with occasional drops down to 28, that's more than I get in some default areas!

The only downside for me is that something's obviously got messed up with my wake effects (I don't think it's related to the scenery, though), so I have wakes that go miles up into the sky. Hopefully a repiar can help out here...

29Palms did do ORBX Cardiff ;)

Yeah, 29Palms are really good developers.

What I would say is that, although I do still love Mykonos X (their release before this one), there is quite an improvement in visuals and definition with Skiathos X over Mykonos IMHO.

It's not at all that Mykonos is a bad scenery in anyway;   if you looked at it in isolation, it's fantastic, but Skiathos moves into a different league, in terms of both the details at the airport, the texturing and buildings around the island, and also performance.

So if you're only getting one Greek scenery ........... definitely get Skiathos!

Just ordered it.  Looks like real fun this weekend.

UPDATE:  Installed the scenery and it looked great while I was on the runway.  Took off and looked around and the "wave wakes" of 2 of the boats were shooting up in the air on to space.  There are 2 of them and they are right behind Runway 02.  They were not behind the boats on the water.

I installed the Greek Coastlines at the same time as this scenery, and I checked it in the set up screen (last box).

What in the world is causing this?

Also, how do I bring up the set up screen again?  There's no icon for it, and I can't find it in my programs.

Thanks.  How about some help in sorting this out.

Stan

Can't help you with the wakes, sorry, they stay behind the boats at my Skiathos, ( i do not have Greek Coastlines but i do use UTX and GEX Europe) but you can find the setup screen in FSX/Aerosoft/29Palms-Skiathos/29Palms-Skiathos X Manager.exe

Btw, this certainly is the most enchanting and superb FS scenery this pixelpilot has ever flown over ! Wow!!

Sorry fellas, why would you have Greek coastlines for a standalone piece of scenery? I don't understand...

Unless you're doing circuits then it makes the other islands you'll fly over not look like primary shapes as the default resolution is pretty poor.

Ah, sure, I understand the relevence with default sceneries, I just got my little head mixed up and thought guys were advocating it's use use with the Aerosoft sceneries...

Mmmm, I'm definitely not seeing that strange wake behaviour; it sounds like something has gone wrong there somewhere.

If I were you I would uninstall the Greek Coastline Scenery for now, just to see the affect on Skiathos, and the wake problem.

I'd then take a look at the Scenery Library and, for now, make sure Skiathos is right at the top.

I can't imagine the Greek Coastlines addon screwing up the wake, but I guess it's possible (I too am using UTX Europe for coastlines).

I hope you get it fixed up!

Looks like I'm not alone with that problem. I can't say whether there are boats involved or not, I didn't really think about that, but I'll take a look as soon as I can. Btw, I don't run UTX nor Greek Coastlines, so I guess those two are not the culprits.

Florian

Uninstalled Greek Coastlines and still had vertical wakes going straight up behind the boats.. Then uninstalled Skiathos scenery completely and re-installed. Still have the anomaly. Since another member said he had it too on this thread, I know it's not just my system. Hope the developer is reading this. I use UTX and European GEX.

STILL VERY BEAUTIFUL SCENERY, but it would be good to get rid of these vertical wakes.
