The entry of a flightplan can only be done through the FSX flight planner, at least I wasn't able to enter waypoints. It is possible, to delete single waypoints and add procedures, quite comparable to the SR22's G1000. So, not a big improvement over their last release.

 

 

I'd suggest reading the G1000 documentation that came with the airplane.

 

You can build a flightplan right on the G1000 as well as adding and deleting waypoints.

 

Not everything works quite right IMHO, but the basics are there.

Hmmm I'm on the fence.

 

Mainly the G1000 is holding me back, but it might be good enough for me to give it a go.

 

Anything about it I should know? The 850 is a favorite of mine.

Seriously? It says "Besides the NGX and Q-400 respectively, this is the most realistic aircraft I have seen in FS". Any and every accusim plane from A2A annihilates this thing. The Realair Duke Turbine and Lancair Legacy both beat it badly. I could keep listing other planes but I won't. If you wrote that, you obviously have not flown many FSX addons.

Don't get me wrong- the plane isn't bad by any means, but it is galaxies away from being compared to those two addons.

How does the Real Air Turbine Duke beat this?   You can make an easy argument that the Duke's engine modeling is spectacular, but the rest of it is relatively unexceptional by current standards, especially the weirdly over-stable handling.  The Legacy is hard to beat for how well a simple plane is modeled, and the NGX is a remarkable blend of complex and realistic normal systems operations and graphics in a very user interface friendly and frame rate friendly package.  IMO of course

 

 

In favor of the TBM850, I don't think it has been thoroughly vetted yet, but it certainly has more realistic single engine performance than the Duke or NGX, lol.

I like the Carenado Malibu more as well. Nothing wrong with RealAir's products though by any means! Heck, the Duke is on the front page of my blog.

 

I'm a visual guy and understand we can't have everything in FSX. Options are nice, but I'm not going to bash a group if I don't get what I want.

Well, with a name like "Duke", maybe it's assumed it has a mean uppercut? "Legacy" is right up there with "Stone Cold Steve Austin". Then again, "TBM" could stand for "The Big Mama". Makes that bet on the cage match a little more serious!

From my experience flying the real Duke the aircraft is very stable when loaded properly and feels somewhat heavy on the controls (at best it feels like a ship when flying it right after flying a Duchess or Da42). I don't own Real Air's Duke so i can't comment on how it handles.

 

Back on topic though..how does this TBM hold up regarding system performance overall? Is it something that needs quantum hardware to get 20+ fps on?

Maybe Carenado stepped up their game?

It's certainly a step up from the SR22.

 

Loving the fde on this. Frames excellent as well.
