October 13, 200421 yr Hi Mark,I have Active Camera v2 installed and it runs fine under FS2004 before the update. I assume I am correct in believing I don't need to install the AC 9.1 compatible update BEFORE running Microsoft's FS 9.1 update installer but only BEFORE running FS for the first time after Microsoft's 9.1 update has been applied?By now, you are probably aware that I am one of those unfortunates who seems to be being blocked from updating by MS's installer. I am trying to figure out why and, I guess, am now at the point when I'm clutching at straws for a solution. And before you reiterate the mantra ;), yes, I have followed all the instructions VERY carefully. I am one of many, I'm sure, who has taken great pride in looking after the ever growing and complex installation of FS2004 very carefully. I have been rewarded by consistent rock solid performance and have never needed to reinstall. Now it seems, if I really want this patch (and I do...sigh), Microsoft are threatening me with having to waste hours reinstalling everything from scratch. Not very helpful or friendly, and that's from someone who has, more often than not, tried to remain fair and even handed when discussing all matters Microsoft. I am willing to accept that my difficulty has something to do with my installation, but what I am finding a hard time excusing is the total absence of any clues from their update installer as to what the problem might be or how to produce a remedy. From the apparent success rate experienced by other contributers to this forum I have to assume that addons are not necessarily a barrier to the successful completion to update. So, what could possibly be happening in my case?!Regards,Mike
October 13, 200421 yr I was one of the hasty ones. I rushed in and tried installing the patch without reading the readme, while having the n-cd on.Of course it got stuck. I was smart enough to make a restore point so I reverted back and all is good. Now, I got the original fs9.exe and tried installing - but it says the update is already installed! Of course it isn't but still...So I am looking for the fs9updateuninstall.exe file - and it's not in there - either because installation never completed or because I restored the system to the point before installing it.How can I proceed? FS does work, but no patch whatsoever...

October 14, 200421 yr Thanks.I actually thought of that after reading the microsoft readme, but I was probably too terrified to see it at the bottom of the folder...Did it, it works.Thakns!Oren Geva
October 14, 200421 yr Yes. From most reports I've heard, the installer really lingers over this particular .dll but will finish if given enough time. Go make or buy a coffee and catch up on a little reading or checklist memorization while you wait for it to finish its work. My install was on top of a fresh reinstall and took about 2-3 minutes while I've heard others report that theirs took over an hour to finish.Kevin
October 14, 200421 yr And it does! Thank you. If this was in the read me I missed it and apologize for not finding it myself. Thanks again.B. Scott

October 15, 200421 yr Has anyone experenced and problems while flying with the 3.4 vers of FSUIPC. Here is what happened to me. While flying the B-52 gmax , FS9 stopped responding when I activated the weather radar. It appears the gau is a F16.gau and the log file created by FSUIPC stated it was not a regestered gau. What? Are we going to have problems with some of the panel gauges with this new version of FSUPIC. I did not register because I only link between AFCAD and FS9 and according to the instructions in AFCAD it is not necessary to register the FSUPIC.
October 15, 200421 yr Just register the gauge. You can find the freeware reg page here:-http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?...67d2c6ac369d2ad

October 15, 200421 yr Ok, if any of you happened to install paych with the no-cd exe, thus didn't get that updated, don't worry! Just go to http://www.gameburnworld.com/ and search for fs2004 and you will find a new no-cd exe-file, v9.1! Yes, I paid for my FS9 but take no #### from Microsoft's silly suit and tie pinquins! :)// Peter A. Mankowskihttp://www.mankowski.co.ukhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
October 15, 200421 yr I have installed the scenery for Portugal PT2000. I have heard that it modifies the FS9 files. So I am afraid of installing the patch. Has someone some ideas on this subject.I have contacted PTSim, the add-on producer, but I did not yet have an answer.Regards,
