June 5, 201313 yr I'm not willing to operate widebodies on unrealistic legs so I don't have much scope to use them ANA and JL operates a ton of short haul widebody routes and United I think does a fair amount of domestic runs as does AA occasionally. I tried A2A's Boeing 377 but the thing just frustrated me so its permanently parked but my 777 will be doing a ton of short hops in the US with DFW and ORD being the two focus cities. June 5, 201313 yr I am really excited about the 7478i. I think the competition between the A380 and the 7478i is going to be real interesting. The 380 is a very good aircraft. Auto trim! But most of the new interiors are being ordered with a lot of luxury suites because they can not fill all of the seats. A Super Jumbo is worth nothing if it does not make money. June 7, 201313 yr 747v2 this year is pretttttyy optimistic! Never know though - since it's probably more simple to develop than the 777! No, no, not this year. Soon! Eric I"m looking forward to the 747 V2.0. But in the mean time I would love to see some screenshots from the VC of the 777X. Eric Eric van Dorp
June 13, 201312 yr May I ask why? Main problem was with the overheating engines (tried flying it by the book, too used to the liquid cooled engines in the P-51 and P-40 which I never have a problem with) and flying a huge prop liner wasn't as appealing as I thought it would be. Now the biggest prop I would fly is the JS41 and anything bigger has to be a jet. Alex Jevdic KORD/KHOT/KPWKA<380 love at first flight
June 14, 201312 yr Of PMDG projects, most excited about the DC-6. Between the two tubeliners in question, I am more excited about the 747v2. I will certainly get the 777-200LR because it is an amazing aircraft performance-wise and for the sake of simply flying it. Not interested in the 777 expansions personally. As far as aircraft beauty, I don't find tubeliners particularly stunning...with some exceptions, there are only so many ways you can put wings on a tube. lol, The Concorde is beautiful. The Sonic Cruiser would have been beautiful, as would have been the BWB. Most 'modern' airliners are pretty generic looking. Nothing compared to the beauty of say a Spitfire, Staggerwing, Waco SRE, and many planes of that era. For the 'modern' era, the Beech Starship was beautiful. Just personal tastes I guess, but I find vintage vehicles to be more 'beautiful in general anyway. Many 30s 40s 50s 60s Cars were beautiful, when there was real art in design Todays cars look like cheese wedges on wheels....and there are only so many ways you can streamline a cheese wedge LOL I don't buy FS planes just based on their beauty tho....Sibwings AN-2 is AWESOME!
