Watching TV and NOT monitoring the AVSIM forums for continuing 777 postings Ollie?  You may have to rethink your priorities :p0805:

Tom- not on my account please!  He's entitled to his opinion, and I'm entitled to ignore him ;)

Look through his (Lyle221's) recent posts: They really troll sum up for a temporary ban ...

Currently I'm being today's 6th busiest poster - and I don't even have any valuable contributions to offer!

If there were a poll about it, the community actually would want me to have a TV break!

Surely not your account Carl,  he's responded more than a few times, not a single post worthy of the bandwidth it occupied.

It's clear that he's just a whiney kid, or a disgruntled person in some way that PMDG is not releasing the 777 on his schedule and now he has to tolerate all this beta team excitement instead of having the plane himself.

Tom's pretty lenient, enough to let someone prove that they contribute nothing to the hobby other than to complain and be disrespectful.   Once they proven that beyond a doubt, he rightfully gives them a vacation, puts them in time out, gives us a break from them.  When (if) he lets them back in, rest assured they'll be on a short leash, given a fair chance to redeem themselves.

Short of that....this hobby (and Avsim) will not miss them at all, and they will just have to find another place to go and satisfy their need to be negative.

Fantastic post by the way Carl, one of the best I've ever read here, and if you look at my member ID and how long I've been here reading posts...you'll appreciate how much that means .

Yup, you joined the day after we opened the new forums up. One day after I did, and I was the guy that turned the system on.

Man, what a read! This text made me even more excited for the 777 than all those pictures and video-footage released yesterday. Thanks for sharing!

Hehe...Gawd has it really been 11 years and change Tom?  And I was a member in good standing in the old forums as well.  :Silly:  (which just means I'm old, hehe)

If you showed me what the PMDG 777 is going to deliver to us that 11 years ago....I would have never believed it possible.  This hobby has advanced so much since then.  Glad Avsim has continued to be there as a medium for us simmers to enjoy our hobby!

I'll say thanks Tom for all you and your staff do here. :Applause:

That was an amazing read. Thought I was reading part of a novel of pilots life experience. Really immersive as if I was sitting right there. Keep up the great work!!

Carl,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us so eloquently. Your words flowed off the page so effortlessly that I swear I experienced the immersion. I was there.

It's amazing how carefully crafted words can invoke emotional responses that even a skillfully made video can't reproduce!
