August 15, 201312 yr Locked versions (AAX/T7) should happily combine; the full version (bought standalone) should supersede both of them. What happened to AVSIM
August 15, 201312 yr I have it installed for both the AXE and the 777 and I'm not seeing any conflicts at all. When the AXE was first released, there was a problem with their uninstaller where it uninstalled the stand alone version of RAAS, forcing a reinstall. Has the uninstaller been verified, that this won't happen with the 777? Tom Cain Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
August 15, 201312 yr Author I saw the streamvideo of frooglesim and the sound is indeed that of FS2crew. It`s a pity because I hoped to hear the common female voice of RAAS. Unfortunatly the sound is not changeable because they are in a containerfile. So there is no folder where I can easy change wav files. Hope fs2crew will change that.
August 16, 201312 yr The real voice is impossible to get (copyright stuff). Therefor, we used a similar sounding voice of the real Betty for several fighter jets including the F-15, F-16 and F-18, as well as the STS (Space Shuttle). I currently think about getting another voice , but those are very expensive. Tebin Ulrich
August 17, 201312 yr Commercial Member When the AXE was first released, there was a problem with their uninstaller where it uninstalled the stand alone version of RAAS, forcing a reinstall. Has the uninstaller been verified, that this won't happen with the 777? Tom Cain Since the cat is out of the bag and the 777 beta testers are openly discussing RAAS, I guess I'll chime in. Points: 1. PMDG licensed RAAS to work with their 777. It's cool because we developed an SDK for RAAS, and PMDG used our SDK to link RAAS directly with the 777. Because of this you can control RAAS from cockpit switches, and RAAS can send messages to the 777 as you saw in the one screen shot showing the ND. It's pretty cool. 2. What you'll be getting is a locked version of RAAS that functions with the PMDG 777 and Aerosoft Airbus X if you already have it. If you already own the RAAS Pro version that works with ALL aircraft, it will work with the 777, too. In fact, the latest version of RAAS Pro (Version 1.2.1.36) already this extra functionality built in. 3. There's no conflicts with anything, Pro or Locked version. 4. Voices may not sound exactly 100 percent like the real RAAS; but that's because they're copyright and we don't want to get sued. But they're still very close. 5. If you uninstall the 777, RAAS will not be uninstalled. I gave a certain individual at PMDG explicit instructions in this regard, and if RAAS gets uninstalled, FS2Crew and PMDG will be meeting for "pistols at down," and I'm a good shot. So worry not. August 17, 201312 yr Author Hello byork, Can you please make it possible to put your RAAS sounds in an extra folder, so that user can change the sounds. May be a user gets access to the sounds and can upload them on avsim. But what I don`t understand is, why should Honeywell make problems by using the RAAS sounds? I mean what`s about the GPWS sounds, which are in the PMDG, Wilco, or on avsim? They are also from Honeywell. However if you could make an update it would be great. Also what I hope is to add more callouts. The metric callouts start at 1800m in reality. Yours start at 1200m. The callout in feet start at 5000 or 6000 feet. I am sure that there is an option in reality that the highest distance callouts (1800/1500m or 5000ft are played below a certain roll speed. Also it would be nice if the configutation would be more aircraft specific. I mean for every aircraft suited. Not only choice between Airbus and Boeing. What does A32Xtebs mean with "getting another voice"? I pesonally have excess to the real female voice, but not 100% all of the callouts. But for me it is not possible to use them unless your sounds are in container files. Tassili Airlines Algeria uses the male aural warning voice of the GPWS for RAAS. Also Ehiopian Airlines. female voice P.S. Concerning the male voice there are two or three different voices existing!
August 17, 201312 yr What does A32Xtebs mean with "getting another voice"? I pesonally have excess to the real female voice I'm in the sound business and used to produce commercials and movie trailers etc. I have access to the world's best voices and could no doubt hire the real Betty for a project. I think the issue is blatantly copying a real world product (like the aural soundset of a military or commercial aircraft) to use in a virtual replica of that same product. There are no issues at all when it comes to recording with your own equipment the sound in a flight deck or engine but when it comes to a voice (which can be copyrighted to a certain product/company) then you're getting in to murky waters.
