September 2, 201312 yr I've had a search through the forum, and can't seem to find any results. I'm looking for a GA plane, one that I can use for training purposes, and touring, very short flights It needs to have a good VC too, as I use Track IR. Any ideas? Cheers! Ian
September 2, 201312 yr Well... that's a hard one. There's so many! For short flights and touring, I'd suggest the RealAir Scout/Decathalon/Citabria package. That's easily the best small tourer. You might also check out Carenados Cessna 152, 172 and Piper Cherokee. There's other bests that fit other niches... for example, I'd suggest the Dreamfleet Baron if you were looking for longer flights and nice avionics.
September 2, 201312 yr And to continue on the RealAir path I'd suggest the SF260! Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------

September 3, 201312 yr sibwings SAAB and Reak Air Duke are bot FSX only - this is a FS9 thread. I've done the same mistake myself - you see the post in the left column under "Latest forum topics" and start writing and only to finally realize that it was a X-Plane thread... It would be convenient if one could somehow filter what kind of threads should be shown in that column or the subforum they belong to should be indicated. Personally that Latest forum topics section is the first I look at when I go to avsim. Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
September 3, 201312 yr What about that absolutely amazing freeware Reims-Cessna 150L? Hard to find, but with a bit of effort, probably here: http://www.fs-tutorials.com/en/down_plane_C150_01.php If you must have payware, certainly the Carenado Bonanza mentioned above will do for you.
September 3, 201312 yr Krister - with respect the SibWings Saab for FS9 was issued well before the FSX version, about 10-12 months if I recall correctly. Like the Dornier, which arrived around the same time, the Saab heralded new techniques, graphics and raised the bar of expectations of simmers. As I NEVER visit the FSX thread nor the home page of AVSIM I am well aware of what forum I am posting into. On a more positive note though I agree entirely with your choice - the Marchetti remains one of my favorite aircraft of all time. I didn't mention it only because you had beat me to it!

September 3, 201312 yr Author Ok, thanks so far! So, I am going to go but the dornier. It looks amazing! I have the Saab all ready, but I have a problem. I trim the flight, but the plane constantly banks left or right? I've made sure fuel tanks are level, trimmed. My joystick is functioning fine. Could it be the dead zone? Or am I doing something wrong in the plane?
September 4, 201312 yr If you're looking for a great GA trainer, look no further than this little known, and oft forgotten gem.http://www.fs-tutorials.com/en/down_plane_C150_01.phpThis Cessna 150 is freeware and blows away 97% of the payware offerings. There's no 2D panel, just the VC. Works fantastic with Track IR and it's very frame rate friendly. Lots of goodies too. You won't regret the time it takes to download and try it out. EDIT: Ooops, someone beat me to it. So just consider this another endorsement. If after that, you really want to spend some cash , I can wholeheartedly recommend the Dreamfleet Archer 3, and the RealAir Scout package. Best light trainer types on the market for FS9. Have fun!!
