September 11, 201312 yr I read something just now, and yeah they are definitely up to something.http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/64575-major-product-announcement-coming-this-weekend/?p=589544#entry589544 Jerad Burns
September 11, 201312 yr Sounds interesting. My money's on it being a new terrain mesh for the whole world. Nick
September 11, 201312 yr I'd hope for an accurate mesh (more than 38m), but I guess it's more likely to be a product like Ultimate Terrain. Anywas, thanks for the HU, I am very interested in this already. Florian
September 11, 201312 yr I bet it's something like Ultimate Terrain. +1 Interesting times  but devastating for my wallet. KInd regards Jean-Paul I7 8700K / Fractal Design Celsius S24 watercooling / ASRock Z370 Extreme4 motherboard / Corsair 32GB 3200mhz DDR4 / INNO3D iChiLL GeForce GTX 1080 Ti X3 / Samsung SSD 960 EVO M.2 PCIe NVMe 500GB / Seasonic-SSR-850FX power supply / Fractal Design Define R5 Black case / AOC Q3279VWF 32″ 2560x1440 monitor / Benq GL2450 24″ 1920x1080 monitor / Track-IR 4
September 11, 201312 yr I don't think they'll go for something like Ultimate Terrain - it would step on the toes of their regional scenery products. Besides, I think the kind of data required to make a UT type package isn't available for many parts of the world and prohibitively expensive for others. Nick
September 11, 201312 yr Maybe they figured out how to put their stuff on top of photoreal...or maybe just brightened stuff up... Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
September 11, 201312 yr ....I think the kind of data required to make a UT type package isn't available for many parts of the world and prohibitively expensive for others. Unless they rely on Openstreetmap data. Their coverage is already quite impressive. KInd regards Jean-Paul I7 8700K / Fractal Design Celsius S24 watercooling / ASRock Z370 Extreme4 motherboard / Corsair 32GB 3200mhz DDR4 / INNO3D iChiLL GeForce GTX 1080 Ti X3 / Samsung SSD 960 EVO M.2 PCIe NVMe 500GB / Seasonic-SSR-850FX power supply / Fractal Design Define R5 Black case / AOC Q3279VWF 32″ 2560x1440 monitor / Benq GL2450 24″ 1920x1080 monitor / Track-IR 4
September 11, 201312 yr Very interesting indeed. If it is a UTX like product it might persuade me in buying FTXG, solving the UTX compatibility concerns I currently have. Guess the OrbX forum will be a busy place this weekend :-) Regards, Frank van der Werff
September 11, 201312 yr OpenLC is not about roads, rivers & coastlines  KInd regards Jean-Paul I7 8700K / Fractal Design Celsius S24 watercooling / ASRock Z370 Extreme4 motherboard / Corsair 32GB 3200mhz DDR4 / INNO3D iChiLL GeForce GTX 1080 Ti X3 / Samsung SSD 960 EVO M.2 PCIe NVMe 500GB / Seasonic-SSR-850FX power supply / Fractal Design Define R5 Black case / AOC Q3279VWF 32″ 2560x1440 monitor / Benq GL2450 24″ 1920x1080 monitor / Track-IR 4
September 11, 201312 yr It's either mesh or AI traffic. LC has already been revealed. they already have A1 , its free to ZORAN
September 11, 201312 yr It's either mesh or AI traffic. LC has already been revealed. But the announced LC will not contain vector data like roads or coastlines like UTX, will it? So it might also be a UTX-like product tailored specific towards vector data. I doubt it will be an AI product. Goes to far from their trusted comfort zone of scenery products.
