September 28, 201312 yr Author Ok another one showing another important aspect of SkyMAXX Pro......yep flying with them...lol This vid shows a few things, gone is the "grey screen of death" and how substantial and realistic the clouds are over the default...
September 28, 201312 yr Wonderful! So if I understand correctly, the turbulence, winds, etc. will continue to be managed by X-Plane, while this add-on will replace the default clouds and create their own 3d clouds. Also, will it replace the rain/snow depiction? They're extremely poor compared to FSX. "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

While we are at it cumulonimbus thunderheads are simulated in the sim along with light-mapping for the lightning, just finished another upload that shows how the light-mapping works.....
September 28, 201312 yr Wow, John ... this stuff starts to really impress me  ! Andras Fabian / Alpilotx Visit www.alpilotx.net, a site about X-plane scenery You can see some landscape and other photographs from me here: http://www.flickr.co...s/weathermaker/

September 28, 201312 yr I see one potential problem in the inconsistency between these clouds and X-Plane native turbulence. I try to explain better: suppose you have a weather with high convective activity. As we can see in the X-Plane weather map, in this case there will be white/green zones with light turbulence, and yellow/red zones with high and extreme turbulence. Now, if this add-on substitutes native X-Plane clouds, there could be zones where X-Plane puts severe turbulence, but SkyMAXX puts no clouds; and, on the contrary, other zones where SkyMAXX puts a big cumulonimbus, but X-Plane puts no or low turbulence. In other words, it could happen that I see a big CB (created by SkyMAXX) and try to avoid it by turning towards a clear sky sector, but in that apparently clear sky sector, X-Plane has put instead a big zone of turbulence. So this would make weather avoidance very random. What are the thoughts of developers on this? "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

It follows the X-Plane default weather....so if the turbulence is felt inside a certain altitude range in the default weather SkyMAXX will follow the default.....Also Skymaxx will put clouds into the same altitude range as the default weather.....Nothing complicated here.....

September 29, 201312 yr Author Does this have any connection to Sundog and The Silverlining/Triton SDK's? Yes we are very connected to Sun-Dog. The integration is using the SliverLining SDK for its backbone and Sun-Dog has been working very closely with us on tailoring the SDK to work seamlessly with X-Plane. If you look around on the Sun-Dog site you will see they are involved with commercial and military simulation. This is great news for the X-Plane community since it will bring a degree of realism used in commercial sims..... Awww, you edited your post John Are the videos with HDR on or off? HDR is off yes.....
