Hoping sometime this month....

Hoping sometime this month....

  :im Not Worthy:  :clapping:  :yahoo: thank you.  the wait is killing me.  I hate the Grey wall of fog and the xp10 default clouds.  This payware was very needed and I would have paid any amount for it.

OK here are a couple for you to ponder.....

I'm sensing some frustration. ....I hope the next lot of shots are from users. ...

Disagree with you on this, there has been tons of backlash on the sudden grey out that X-Plane 10 has.....

That is one thing we are going to add is a volumetric overcast condition, once we have a working example Ill show you......

Oh sorry, what I actually meant was that I'm totally happy about the fact that the ''sudden grey out'' will be gone. To rephrase it, to me the best thing about Skymaxx Pro will be the new clouds, followed by the fact that the ''sudden grey out'' won't be there anymore!

Your approach to the overcast weather is exactly what I was hoping for.

Looking forward to the screenshots.

Got ya.....

Sometimes xplaners are function over form....that always needs to be my focus ;)

I will certainly buy this GREAT add-on the day it gets available!!!!

You made my weekend!!!!

It would be great if it could make it's way together with a good weather injector, but I'm affraid we will have to wait for a while for that... Anyway, the way it is already makes this product just what I was willing to have for X-Plane 10.

I really confess I couldn't care less about having or not moving clouds. What is important to me is that the weather effects of crossing some cloud types are enabled with this add-on, specially when nearing a big convective cloud :-)

After seeing the latest pictures I would like to share my opinion (and this is my absolutely personal opinion ... or call it taste ... so your mileage may vary). First, from a pure technical perspective I find it quite impressive what you guys have achieved here. I mean with all the new tech from SunDog, the crepuscular rays, lighting etc. ... and making it work together with X-Plane in an - obviously - smooth manner is definitely not bad!

But there is a second part ... and this is absolutely about taste(!!!). A few of you might know, that I am not just sitting in front of my PC all day, but also like to go out into the nature (climbing, hiking, cycling ... you name it). This brings with it, that I have (and do) seen the real nature quite often too (and yes John, I know you are out quite often too  ) ... (If in doubt, you can see my impressions here). And my point is, that I find these pictures maybe a "tad" too colorful, too "artistic" (like some impressionist paintings etc.) and not necessarily like I have witnessed the "real thing". My impression is/was most of the time, that even though the sky can be extremely impressive (have seen it just two days ago early in the morning - red glow for few minutes) it is - in my eyes(!!!) - rarely this ... uhm ... vivid (yes, maybe a bit "overdone").

I also have to admit - just to underline the point that this is my point of view and thus extremely subjective - that I am as a photographer / outdoor guy / someone who knows a bit about computer graphics / even computer vision etc. etc. are absolutely aware of the many factors which influence the human visual perception. The fact, that we all tend to see (with our eyes)  differently, tend to have different memories (and thus concepts) of natural phenomena, have different computer displays (its quite surprising how extreme differences you can see on different displays nowadays!!!) ... and so on. So, its "normal" that a rendering which someone might find "extremely realistic", might look "totally unrealistic" to others ...

So, my final point is, that I would find it a great addition to your product, if it would support a few different color/lighting profiles (maybe even customizable a little bit ???) ...  This would help to make it pleasing to much more users, as almost everybody could find settings which match their own preferences/visual perception. Some like it vivid, some like it saturated, some like it with lots of bloom, while others might wish more moderate colors or less "brightness" ... etc. etc ... Well, I am sure you - John - see my point  .

Andras,

I do have a short answer for that,  yes the crepuscular rays are pretty stark thats looking directly at the sun.  Sun glare if you will.  But the end-user will have complete control over the whole look and feel of the plugin.  Here is another SS of the UI:

http://i.imgur.com/zbnRmQh.jpg

As you can see you can add and select your own sky colors, you can adjust the intensity of the crepuscular rays, adjusting the cloud detail will change the bumpiness in the cloud puff, and finally users can add different cirrus textures........

I know how subjective scenery can be and to be frank I don't want to get into the discussion, that's why I am giving the end-user complete control over the look and feel of SkyMAXX Pro.... :D

Without that I don't think this product will work.......

Perfect! I see we understand each other B) !

Oh for sure.....and I understand the community.  I remember some backlash over my free sky colors and how important the perception of the community is overall when it comes to the sky.

I put a lot of effort into making this product appeal to the whole user base and the UI is at the center of that.......

Not only are the clouds dynamic but also the setup, I hope users take advantage of that to customize the product to conform to their tastes....
