June 6, 201412 yr Hmm, bit optimistic there I think! Currently getting a 750/650 stack fitted to my real Mooney - wish the install would only cost $1000! Haha yep, I did put in a 'or more' disclaimer! Being an A&P Mechanic on everything from Hughes 369's to Boeing 747's before I went flying I am well aware of the 'markup' on avionics installs, and TBH it depends entirely on how 'ready' a particular aircraft is for a certain install. I mean it could cost more than a grand just to actually 'fit' the GTN into the console, not to mention doing anything behind the panel. You must be pretty stoked though getting one of those installed, very capable toy to have up front! Cam F.

Interesting to hear that the US has a similar "rip-off" aviation sales regime as the UK, also infected by even more rip-off prices for the tiniest item for sailing boats, aircraft or gliders. Gliding in the UK has now become a rich man's sport although there are pockets of reasonable value if you book a weekly course. The RXP modules for FSX are still extremely popular but we'll see what the real take up is with the F1 units and see whether it is viable for us to justify the work and time involved. June 10, 201411 yr . . . The RXP modules for FSX are still extremely popular but we'll see what the real take up is with the F1 units and see whether it is viable for us to justify the work and time involved. Best Wishes, Rob - RealAIr I, for one, am wishing and hoping that RealAir does indeed find the new and exciting Flight1 GTN 650/750 units a viable option/upgrade for the v2 Duke panel. Jim Rhoads is on record as stating he will personally work with any FSX developer along with providing a free SDK to assist in fitting these new, modern units into our existing favorite addon(s). The seamless installation options for the older Reality XP into the Duke panel was such a slick deal that I drool at the thought of being able to upgrade my Reality XP units with my new Flight1 GTN units. Garmin decided it was necessary to replace their 430/530 units with the much improved and thoroughly modern 650 and 750 units. I do indeed hope Realair will follow suit. It should be somewhat easier with the addon Provider working directly with the FSX Developer this time. Here is a screenshot of a similar FSX twin with the new F1 units installed. June 10, 201411 yr My "holy grail" from RealAir Simulations would be an upgraded Turbine Duke with a slightly more controllable throttle  The upgraded piston Duke is nice, but nothing beats the fantastic whine from those turboprops. I kinda consider of the 'turbine whine' as more of a 'turbine roar' but what I really like is the exceptional performance of the Turbine Duke. Maybe the v2 Turbine Duke will offer the Flight1 GTN Avionics as an option in lieu of the now defunct RXP units. (Defunct for support, that is) Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
June 10, 201411 yr I would love to see the F1 GTN gauges in the Duke as well - wonderful units that would pare beautifully with a fantastic aircraft. Esp if set w/ no other Nav/Com units, audio panel or transponder. Would look super clean... Joe Lorenc

Maybe if enough customers let Ron and Sean know that we have the new F1 gauges or would purchase them if they upgraded the RealAir panels to accept them it could happen. Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . June 10, 201411 yr I hope they don't leave out RXP though... June 10, 201411 yr I hope they don't leave out RXP though... Still a excellent product! Agreed. Among other reasons, I like the 430 and 530 because they're available in planes I can rent locally when/if I ever get current again. Scott
June 10, 201411 yr Yes, an integration of the F1 GTN units would be excellent! Greetings Tim My files on Flightsim.to i5 12600K | 32Gb | RTX 4080

My brother-in-law just added a 530 to his 70ish Cessna 182. Last I heard he was complaining about the price of gas and two days ago he says he added the 530. Prices must be dropping. Ryan, I'm with you on keeping the 430/530 options open. They are still one of the best investments to date for me. Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
June 10, 201411 yr Sheesh - at your story Ray - yep just love how people whine that they can't afford groceries as they're talking on their iPhone.... ... sigh | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
June 16, 201411 yr Edited the whole thing to say - great plane overall. A little disappointed that I have to muck with FSX settings to get the gear to operate correctly (when all other developers seem to be able to code around it just fine), but from reading the thread on this, the developers seem intent on just letting that issue ride (although I would still like to point out that the Flying Guide only references turning off crash/damage detection in the context of practicing gear up landings, not in the overall sense of getting the gear to work properly in the first place - misleading at best), so I guess I will, too. Thanks, Jon
June 16, 201411 yr Just wondering (as I haven't yet purchased the F1 750/650 set.) Is there software with them to help install these gauges over exisiting panels? Do the just not fit well in the Duke? Guess I'm just wondering how easily that they can be "retrofit"into my existing aircraft... Tom
June 16, 201411 yr The 650 might fit the GNS430 but the buttons obviously won't work. But the new units are "touchscreen" right? So it shouldn't matter. The 750 is significantly larger than the gns530 so it would be all shrunk if you stuck it in the 530's spot.
