October 14, 201312 yr I love the NGX, 777 and MD-11 equally.... they all have wonderful things about them, that draw me back to them, time and again. The J41 and 747 v1 are well back in the queue and I personally don't use them any more, but the NGX, 777 and MD-11 are the true PMDG queens of the sky for me. If I was to put the 3 favourites into order, for how much soul their real life counterparts have though, it would be :- 1). MD-11 2). NGX 3). 777 that's not an order of preference though, that's just about soul.
October 14, 201312 yr As soon as I get fs2crew with the 777 im sure I will get that 'feeling' I get with the cherished 737.... what a plane.... I don't know about anyone else but im getting much better frames on the 737 in the same conditions as the 777.... October 14, 201312 yr I last flew the NGX very early July.... I don't miss it ha The 777's automation can make things less exciting - I do agree on that actually. But I don't see why you'd need FS2Crew with it personally. However everyone has different preferences I don't understand how the people are comparing the T7 and the NGX regarding the automation, giving the NGX the advantage because "they have more thing to do" and then they are asking for the FS2Crew in the T7 in order to beat the NGX. It is not supposed that FS2Crew will do most things you would do? Just saying...

October 14, 201312 yr I don't understand how the people are comparing the T7 and the NGX regarding the automation I mean more automation = less actions. For example, in the NGX: turning the packs off before engine start then back on after, during a normal start that is. Not required on the 777 - so for some I guess it removes the amount of work involved to operate the 777 in comparison to what they've been used to flying for the past couple years. Same story with me. The only two 'pro' add-ons I've flown for lengthy periods and learnt about during my time of simming have been the LDS 763 & NGX. Which are both older Boeings. I'm used to the 777's automation now and love it - especially the autostart & auto anti-ice systems ^_^ It'd definitely be interesting to fire up the NGX again sometime. After watching a bunch of Airline lately I'm not denying being in the mood for some EasyJet short hops! If I could mold FS2Crew into my flow throughout the flight, then I'd consider it. However it removes a lot of the fun in my opinion But the immersion it creates is cool indeed. - Luke Pabari
October 15, 201312 yr For me, and I may speak for others, its not so much a comparison between the control surfaces of the 737 and the 777, because they are very much different planes and technologies, the comparison I am making between the two is the feeling you get when you fly them, for me, I want to sit in the left hand seat and experience everything a real captain would and let my imagination fill in the gaps, because in the NGX I feel im actually working as a team with FS2crew it just has a better flying experience- because in my opinion and it is currently more realistic, not saying the 777 isnt, its an amazing aircraft (my favorite part is the hum at engine start up, a privilege to be able to), but there is just a small gap atm in my flying experience (not PMDG's fault.... obviously), because I cant work as a team.... like a normal captain.... yer? October 15, 201312 yr Went back to the NGX. More polished. The new sounders were created back in July by another user here at avsim are awesome. Using some of Steve sounds as well. Still waiting on the 5.1 sounds and the FBW fix for the 777. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk Eric

But I don't see why you'd need FS2Crew with it personally. However everyone has different preferences ^_^ Because that's how those big birds were meant to be flown - by a two men crew. I agree that you can easilly fly it in the sim on your own but the workload can get pretty high after takeoff or on approach. You often end up scanning the cockpit and flipping switches, which often results in the loss of situational awereness, while you are flying manually. Just being able to fully concentrate on flying the bird, holding the appropriate speeds and following the desired path, while the virtual co-pilot is managing all the stuff is a big relief and is really immersive in it's own way. And I agree with everyone else, you just can't fly a 777 into great airports like Innsbruck, Juneau, L'viv etc. With kind regards, Bogdan Misko.
October 15, 201312 yr Author The 737 and 777 cockpits aren't the same - don't know what to tell you here. The 737 definitely has less "depth" to the main panel in real life: See how much deeper the 777 panel is recessed back from the edge of the MCP? Thanks Ryan those are some fine pictures! Daniel choen
October 16, 201312 yr Moderator I am missing the NGX but wont go back to it until SP2 when the Auto Cruise Time Compression feature is added. I must admit, the Auto Time Compression is my favorite feature of the T7 since I don't like to spend hours and hours in cruise. I hand fly the SID to 18K feet, put the Baro to STD and hit Auto Cruise until about 20 miles from T/D, then fly her in from there. Sean Campbell Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

October 16, 201312 yr Been there, done that. FUN! I just LOVE the LOC/DME East to visual RW08 approach Or the RNAV. I did that approach last week in thick fog and couldn't see the runway untill about 200ft RA. The HGS, which is standard on Alaskan 737's, is a pretty neat feature in such conditions. With kind regards, Bogdan Misko.
October 16, 201312 yr I would like to see the FPS performance get tweaked to T7 levels. Most people have reported that T7 performances much better than 737NGX. I would love to see that performance come to 737. Nothing destroys my FPS quicker than the virtual cockpit of the 737.
