October 8, 201312 yr Hey folks, Flying the T7 for a while now i started really miss the 737, especially the 800/900, something about that aircraft and PMDG's touch to it. the only thing though is that i feel PMDG did better job with the mcp on the T7, it really sticks out very realistically. maybe it will be fixed on 737 SP1. did it happen to you as well? cheers. October 8, 201312 yr I missed my NGx about a week after flying the 777. I still fly my NGx almost daily. To me, it's just more fun to fly requiring more input from the pilot in all stages of flight. I also just love jamming the 737 down the throats of short / dangerous / difficult airfields. PMDG did a fantastic job modeling both birds! Ben Weaver SWA8485
October 8, 201312 yr You are not alone. Although I love the 777, I still prefer the type of flying done in the NGX, so that's where I spend most of my time. I too hope that some of the T7's enhancements make it to little sister in the next service pack. October 11, 201312 yr Yup. Back to my NGX, much more fun because: - I can do some awesome extreme landings, instead of boring ILS ones. - I can fly to smaller airports and spend less time taxiing - it is less automated - It is FLAWLESS: since SP1c this plane is just too great to fly. I can't have enough of it with my little spare time. Pedro Espindola
October 11, 201312 yr On route in the 737 right now. I love that modified sound pack that was created a while back, it really brings the 737 to life and sound better than the T777 imo. I will head back to the T777 when fs2crew is ready, I think the 777 needs this for better immersion ZORAN
October 11, 201312 yr something about that aircraft and PMDG's touch to it I completely agree... Don't get me wrong - I sure love my new GE90s :Big Grin:
October 11, 201312 yr I enjoy many aircraft, most recently I have flown MD-82, the 737, 777, Dash-8, Tu-154... My only gripe is I don't get enough time to fly them all --Peter Fabian
October 11, 201312 yr I don't miss it at all... October 11, 201312 yr I'm getting drawn back to it and I kinda like how the systems are more manual and is a bit more involved vs setting a few knobs in auto. Another problem with the 777 is that its not really practical for flights in and out of MDW (just flew into the airport for the first time in the RW, it was a blast and felt heavy deceleration the moment we touched down, you don't have much room for error with those small runways). October 11, 201312 yr I love that modified sound pack that was created a while back, it really brings the 737 to life Am I missing out on some amazing sound in my NGx? When do I find said sound pack and how do I install it?? Ben Weaver SWA8485
October 11, 201312 yr Am I missing out on some amazing sound in my NGx? When do I find said sound pack and how do I install it?? You aren't missing out on any amazing sound, the amazing sound is included in the NGX package. Vincent Winberg
October 11, 201312 yr Hey folks, Flying the T7 for a while now i started really miss the 737, especially the 800/900, something about that aircraft and PMDG's touch to it. the only thing though is that i feel PMDG did better job with the mcp on the T7, it really sticks out very realistically. maybe it will be fixed on 737 SP1. did it happen to you as well? cheers. For every 10 777 flights I go back and fly a 737 flight. I think the release of fs2crew for the 777 will make for a much more immersive experience. I agree with many of the posts that the 737 is more fun, because there is more to do as part of your flight. The 777 is very automated and so there tends to be a lot more downtime. However, I am always finding new things about the 777 buried deep down. The other day I was doing fuel dumps. Now I am working on manual landings where I disconnect the flight computers. I have had an occasional emergency popup where I had to go to the checklists to rectify the situation. There are a lot of little features to play with while you are in cruise, so I tend to spend my time turning every little knob I can find and pushing every button that I do not normally interact with to learn what it does. The 777 is extremely complex. It just feels basic and simple due to the high level of automation. Its a great product, but a different type of plane from the 737.
October 11, 201312 yr I enjoy both, the NGX and the T7 very much. I like flying short and medium hauls with picked out ut2 flights that flew the actual day. (Ryanair, Air Berlin, Air Europa etc.) The T7 I exclusively use with the freighter version. Here I fly some fictional routes like in between the cargo hubs of europe, because long hauls like Hong Kong to Leipzig (Aerologic D-AALA) or Beijing to Liege via Dubai (TNT OO-TSC) are taking too much of my precious simming time (although I use the quad-speed function, which is very helpful). Last week I flew the Lufthansa Cargo T7 D-ALFA between KPAE Everett and KPDX Portland. In KPDX I recognized, that GSX on cargo parkings already functions quite well with the T7, also at the main deck cargo door, but for the time being here exists some "freight levitation" on the last meters... :-) BTW: This is an NGX thread! So I just choosed some NGX RW flights of today: D-ABMF Air Berlin AB2266 EDDM Munich/Germany to LEMG Malaga/Spain, 2h36m or EI-DLI Ryan Air FR9043 EHBK Maastricht/Netherlands to LEAL Alicante/Spain, 2h09m. If I only had the time, I would fly both. Can't wait anymore... Always happy landings, Claus Claus KUEPPER
October 11, 201312 yr I took my 738 out for a quick flight from Zurich to Alicante earlier, first thing i noticed is the handling, i dont know how PMDG did it but you can feel the difference in the way the 777 feels in the hand compared to the 737, hard to explain but the 777 certainly feels digital while the 737 feels more direct, needless to say that after flying the 777 for almost 3 weeks non-stop, i had to once again get used to flaring the 737 properly.
