And of course, this does have the affect of making it a lot easier to dismiss what that person is trying to say, as the subject then becomes the persons attitude......

Actually how you are treated on a forum, or just as importantly, how you are allowed to be treated (and how you see others treated) by those who control a forum is going to have a lot to do with how you respond thereafter, most super-especially if you are new.

You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

I lurked a lot when I first discovered the flight simulation community, and watched what happened for more than a year before taking the plunge and beginning to participate. Other forums I watched and will never participate or purchase from, and they never even knew I was there. I suspect that happens a lot more often than some might believe.

That may be emotional bias, but it's also been called speaking with your wallet.

All right guys, can we put an end to the back and forth re he said she said stuff. It's pretty draining to be completely open, particularly if you happen to be one of the catalysts of the conversation.

 

I personally agree that the conversation at the other site is pretty awful and I can totally see how it would deter some people from becoming customers. Hopefully when I get their products the quality of work is high enough to shine above all that drama (from experience with Gorans work on the DC3 I'm pretty confident it will).

TBH I'm surprised the thread's still open. I PM'd two online moderators over an hour ago asking them to lock it as it had more than served its purpose.

Your perception of my comment is off base. As a matter of fact the emotional atrachment users have for both sims is much stronger than the logical attachment.

 

I develop on the emotional side. That suspension of belief that FSX has created so well with all the high quality add ons available.

 

My goal is to bring some of that to xpx....

Being one of the Staff messaged i took the time to read through the thread and passed the decision on to our senior moderators, myself i did not  lock the thread .
