December 3, 201312 yr I would really really appreciate that someone may please post some screenies showing SGSSAA in NI actually worked on removing runway jaggies and autogen shimmering...? I too have a hard time to get SGSSAA to work from NI. Some definitive proof are desperately needed to encourage me to keep on trying NI... 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
December 3, 201312 yr Added a couple other things through sweetfx to make the sim appear more vibrant and the sunlight hitting surfaces actually looking like the color of sunlight. Does the Sweetfx 1.5 work with P3D v2? I thought Sweetfx dealt only with DX9 and DX10 and not DX11 Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

I too have a hard time to get SGSSAA to work from NI. Some definitive proof are desperately needed to encourage me to keep on trying NI... It helps and that's about all you can expect. Much more with aircraft cockpit and gauges than scenery. It helps the shimmering and jaggies somewhat but nothing like you would expect with FSX and DX9. You'll still have shimmering. Will have to wait for a driver optimization from Nvidia. Im not holding my breath.
December 3, 201312 yr I do hope there will be a fix eventually and not in a too distant future because otherwise I'm not sure I'm willing to stay with P3D. Sure there are lots of things that are great and P3D seems to be a great improvement of FSX in many ways but they really need to address this issue one way or the other and I think and hope they will.
December 3, 201312 yr II have all confidence LM will Richard. Ive heard Nvidia can be kind of stickler to work with unless of course your a BIG name game studio. LM has a a lot of cards on the table with bugs so I only assume it will be awhile. Lets home sooner than later. Now, I'm and others are getting Runtime Error R2605. Those kind of stability issues need to be and should be addressed first I reckon.
December 3, 201312 yr I don't know if this will help or not, but I was initially unaware that my GTX580 card could load program-specific profiles. I had different profiles for FSX and P3D, and they only became active when the respective program (i.e., fsx.exe or Prepar3D.exe) was loaded. Until I discovered that capability, whatever setting I changed in NI had no effect at all. I wonder if others that are not seeing that capability are unaware of this feature as well? December 4, 201312 yr I do always set program-specific profiles in Nvidia Inspector. So this shouldn't be the reason for my problem in getting NI to work in P3D2. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
December 4, 201312 yr I'm all with you actual bugs should be addressed before cosmetic issues. It appears to be a little bit too many issues though I think for beeing a released product but I still think P3D will be what we've all been waiting for in the end. I can't stop beeing amazed by the light, reflections, shadows etc...so many things looking so true to life! Can't wait for the day when all issues are long gone and when you'll be able to just sit back and enjoy the show!
December 4, 201312 yr Can't wait for the day when all issues are long gone and when you'll be able to just sit back and enjoy the show! Agreed, and hopefully this comes in v2.1. LM really needs to get with Nvidia to allow some external overides. This may help overall performance with all these new bells and whistles. Besides the lack of adequate AA options, I find the the new shadowing completely unaffected by AA settings. It's really evident with cockpit shadow jaggies, and shadow gradients can be clearly seen in terrain shadows, even at Ultra setting. All in due time I suspect.
