December 2, 201312 yr And once again as said over and over again, this is simply NOT true! As other's have posted, some settings do have an effect. I say it's a placebo effect. I've done every change on NI I can think of and see no difference in P3D. If someone comes here and provides screenshots showing different different settings that would be something else. AJ Pongress

By goodness it changed/worked. I only used enhance and 8sggs and thinks are remarkably improved. Specially the cockpit on the Carenado planes. Also eliminated the outside scenery shimmering. Can tell going from 2 to 4 sparse grid sampling in NI to etc the difference. Now, not sure if any impact on performance it may have. Doesnt seem to. But still have the Microstutters and NI Vsync doesnt seem to have any effect.
December 2, 201312 yr I use Enhance the application and have set 2xSGSS. It makes a WORLD of difference in P3D, I can tell you all! So it does work. LM only said OVERRIDE doesn't work. BTW 2xSGSS already has an slight impact on performance so I am keeping it at that (together with 2xMSAA in the sim). I first only had 8xMSAA and it was awful. 2xMSAA and SxSGSS is good enough for me right now. You should see the difference in the A2A C172: it's staggering!
December 2, 201312 yr Right Jereon. 8 really cleaned it up, not sure its neccessary. 4 or 2's probably fine. For me, Runway markings still dont look that great but it is certainly an improvment. How's your runway markings/? Im only using Antlialising-Transparency Supersampling in NI?
December 2, 201312 yr I think it’s a little preposterous to say with any degree of authority that that NI absolutely does not work in P3dV2. There are far and away too many variables and different combinations of hardware & drivers to be definitive at this point moreover, some users say they are seeing results and who am I or anyone else to say that what they are seeing is an actual or a placebo effect. All I can say is that I am familiar with NI, I have used it in FSX with great results, I have the latest drivers on my GTX780 but NI appears not currently have any effect on my system. Edit- It seems that the last three posts came in very close to when I was typing the above. I will try the "Enhance instead of Override" for those of you using enhanced what are you setting your in game options at? RE Thomason Jr.

I think its also fair to say it can be somewhat "finicky" at times. Ive used it 100's of times also in FSX but still had troubles getting it right. Reckon I'm just an idiot though.

Reckon I'm just an idiot though. I seriously doubt that (about being a self proclaimed idiot) and based on your experience I'll go back and try the "enhance" options as mentioned by others above. Setting up on the end of Runway 33 and Regan National (KDCA) gives me a nice place to measure effectiveness of the settings. Crossing runways 4/22 and 1/19 produce a lot of jaggies and shimmering. RE Thomason Jr.
December 2, 201312 yr Thanks Blaze. Ya still seeing alot of Runway shimmering but I can certainly live with the improvements until an optimized driver or something is implemented.

December 2, 201312 yr That's what I was thinking too... "Override" doesn't work, but "Enhance" does. Gave it a go after work based on your and others recommendation but unfortunately it didn't help any. Was worth a shot though, thanks for suggesting it. RE Thomason Jr.
December 3, 201312 yr Got P3D v2 yesterday and up until now I haven't been doing anything else than trying to get rid of the bad shimmering and AA-issues. Tried setting up at KDCA (thanks Blaze, great place to check these issues) and no matter what settings I use I can't get rid of the shimmering and to some extent AA issues. I do however find the shimmering issue the worse. Sitting at runway 33 and slowly panning up and down really highlight the shimmering looking at the crossing runways ahead of you. I've tried all settings suggested in this thread both in NI and in P3D and a combination of both but still no go. Very strange why using NI appearently works great for some and not for others but guess it's dependent on your hardware/driver config etc. I'm on a 4770K and a Titan and I'm using the latest Nvidia drivers (331.82) and running Win7 x64. Hope there will be a fix for this soon because it takes away quite a bit of the fun as it is now.
