December 17, 201312 yr My all time favourite GA would now be the Carenado PA46-350P Malibu Mirage (to give it it's Sunday name ). If you had told me that my favourite anything would be a Carenado model a year ago, I'd have laughed at you. But with RXP430 and a couple of other mods, this plane is an absolute winner! Do not confuse it with the Carenado PA46T (turbine) which is awful IMHO!

What I like best are its characteristics on approach, flare and landing. It handles very nice, easy to make spot on landings. Also the fact that it can handle 300+ NM flights quickly, and fly in the flight levels if needed. John
December 17, 201312 yr Hi Folks, Wow - you guys have certainly piqued my interest - the Malibu - huh... Definitely a plane I'd be interested in flying... Do we even know who's doing FDE's at Carenado these days ? You know what's funny - when Carenado first started with FS9 - they seemed capable of doing fairly realistic FDE's... You'll probably laugh but to this day - one of the most realistic GA planes I've ever flown in MSFS - in regards to the FDE performance and handling characteristics - that captures the actual sensations of landing a small single engine plane in real life - is the old Carenado Cherokee 180... To me - it seemed spot on... Regards, Scott
December 18, 201312 yr Ok, I'm confused. I thought the (older, cheaper) Malibu 'jet prop' was one of bstolle's models (?)

December 18, 201312 yr Just bought my first RealAir product- the Realair Turbine Duke v2 and it is really incredible I think. Hard to beat the performance of this bird. It was on sale, not sure if it is still or not. Kudos to the RA team. The Turbine duke is still version 1. The Piston duke is version 2.0. I have to say, Realair knocked it out of the park with the Piston Duke 2.0. They killed it.. it's an amazing bird. -Damien Damien Furtman Hovering Hellion

This bird has got me back into GA full time with the PMDG;s locked in the hanger and not even missed....for now  ZORAN

December 18, 201312 yr The Turbine Duke v2 is out already? Nah, they are still working on that as far as I know...? No, I made a goof (as pointed out by Damien). I was for some reason thinking that both the piston and turbine were v2. Eric Tomlin Flight Line Simulations www.FlightLineSimulations.com
December 18, 201312 yr Ok, I'm confused. I thought the (older, cheaper) Malibu 'jet prop' was one of bstolle's models (?) Whether it is or whether it isn't, the Carenado JetProp just isn't very nice (nor convincing) to fly IMHO. A lot of that is to do with the default FSX turbo prop engine modelling being so far off though. Again, I have no idea who did the FDE for the newer, vastly superior Carenado Malibu Mirage, I can just tell you that it flies beautifully, is convincing, immersive, has the best sounds I've heard in a GA (a very convincing "headset on" representation), and is just really great.
December 18, 201312 yr agood, If you like the Cessna 182 w/ G1000 and are disappointed in the Carenado edition you might want to try the Flight1 C182 G1000. I think it is superior in many ways, but especially in the G1000 implementation. Nothing beats the bug spats on the windshield for reality. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
December 18, 201312 yr RealAir Lancair Legacy - hands down, my favorite single-engine GA! It looks absolutely stunning (both interior and exterior), flies great, sounds great, it even has configurator for various graphic settings. Tons of paints available for it as well. And it's quite powerful if you decide to climb above some mountains or fly some longer trip  Cheers, George.

Ray Thanks Ray - I'll get that one as soon as the refund for the Carenado version has been confirmed. A pity I only found out about the Flight1 version after the Carenado purchase.
December 18, 201312 yr meshman, Until the MegaMillions check arrives you can get the next best thing at Flight1. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
